I went to Sears at MOA and bought a new fridge.  I had to wait a long time to get a sales person, since it was unusually busy for a Friday night. But it will be delivered sometime on Tuesday, and that's the important part.

Then I went to the new SuperTarget on 66th & Cedar. Those new ones are so huge, I get in there and lose all sense of time and space.

While in the pet aisle, a woman made a commiserating comment about "it's so hard to decide what food to get." So, you know, I had to help. Sometimes I think I should just stand around in cat food aisles and offer free advice. Well, I do that already, so what am I saying? She was a talker, but mainly about her dogs, but it was at least 30-45 minutes. But her 15 year old cat is having some senior symptoms, so I think she now knows to bring it to the vet.

So then I availed myself of the food options at Target, and got a case of Coke and some munchies and deli food I could put in a cooler, and some frozen food for the deep freezer. I really demonstrated why one shouldn't go shopping on an empty stomach.

I got the the check out about the time they were announcing closing time. And there I discovered...I don't have my wallet. I assume I left it at Sears. I have a checkbook, but Target doesn't take my work ID or insurance card with checks. And although I have my check card number memorized, they won't take that either.

So that sucked. It was embarrassing. And I felt bad that they needed to reshelf everything in the cart. And Sears was closed by then, so I couldn't even call to confirm that I left my wallet there while buying the fridge.

So, I am going to order a pizza and Coke to be delivered, since I can rattle off the card number. And then early tomorrow morning I go back to MOA and hope my wallet is there in the safekeeping of the appliance salesperson. And if not, I am screwed and need to cancel everything, if I can even remember what all I carry in there.

So, stupid stupid day.

Oh, on top of all that. The fridge is still leaking out the last of its melted ice and so forth. So the kitchen smells of freezer water and damp towels. Not pleasant.

I really wanted to hole up at home with a case of Coke and snacks and vegetate until I have to work on Monday and make productive use of my vacation. I know this is only a minor setback, but I was looking forward to staying up until dawn all caffeinated and finish my book. Now I have to wake up in the morning.

Drat.
