Summary: For some, the war is over; others are still living battle to battle. New York is good place to lie low for a while, but no one can hide forever.
Author's note: This is part of a series of interconnected stories. It's set in the same universe as Abyssus Abyssum Invocat, a little over a year earlier, but you don't need to have read that to enjoy this. "Cracked Stars Shining" is about 85% complete, and will be about twenty-five parts when it's done. Consider this as, say, season 9 or 10 in Buffy; in SPN, this goes AU after "Folsom Prison Blues"; in the HP-verse, this veers off into AU after the end of Half-Blood Prince and takes place a little over a year after the end of that book. There is mention of a magical concept introduced in Deathly Hallows, but it won't spoil you for anything in the book (if you even pick up on it at all).
