As much as I think that it's not healthy for the country to have one party controling the presidency, house and senate, I really want Coleman out of office. Yesterday is a prime example. When I woke up, Coleman lead Frankin by only 700 odd votes. Out of almost 3 million. By the time I went to bed, the lead was down to 239. Were talking a couple one-hundreths of a percentage point and WELL within the margin of human error. And Coleman is calling for Frankin to concede and wave his right to a recount. He claims that it is what he would do under the same circumstances. I call bullshit. NO politican, no matter how high minded or noble is going to wave the right to a recount with the margin that slim. It wouldn't be fair to the voters. A high minded and classy politician would have been totally on board with a re-count under these circumstances, and be committed to seeing that the will of the voters was accurately carried out.
Today at least, Coleman has stopped calling for concession and is apparently sulking.
(Don't get me wrong, I don't actually like Frankin any more than I like Coleman. His campaign was just as sleezy. There's a reason the independent candidate took such a huge chunk of the vote) |
