Hello.
Here at mostly_music, we've been desperately waiting for festival season to be over. Mainly because we didn't go to any, but also because the NME gets a little repetitive this time of year.
Singles Chart 26-08-2007
The good: Kanye West is still number one, which is brilliant. Rihanna's singles are once again in succession in the top 20. Umbrella won't die, and Shut Up and Drive didn't beat it :-( but the video is rapturous, but the bits where she has a fringe. m_m favourite Kate Nash is still clinging onto the top 10, and the Amy Winehouse single is hanging in the (lower end) of the top 20. Whoever said there's no such thing as bad publicity? :-(
The bad: Elvis didn't get as high as he should've (ahem.) The Gym Class Heroes are still there. Awful people. Hard fi have continued their range of semi-ironic CD covers:

Album Chart 26-08-2007
The Album Chart is still going wild! The top 10 is brilliant, the mostly_music office collectively creamed ourselves seeing Newton Faulkner, (you know, the one who covered Massive Attack on acoustic guitar, it was brilliant), Winehouse, Kate Nash and Pigeon Detectives still in there. Kaiser Chiefs and the Allen clawed up a few postitions. Fergie, though, :-(
Sadly, this week's new releases are rubbish. You'll have to content yourself with Cajun Dance Party, who are a bit annoying. Albums, though - Ocean Colour Scene are back. We know, we know.
