S went to bed about 8:00 last night because he was still feeling rubbish. I then got R to bed and settled down in front of the telly.
Suki jumped up onto the back of the couch (where a furry throw lives) and proceeds to PEE on the throw. I (obviously) took that quite badly and grabbed her and took her into the kitchen to 'remind' her where the litter tray lives, then chucked her out the front door. Seething.
An hour or so later, I opened the door and she wasn't there. Bit later, still not there. Long story short, I had to go to bed in floods of tears at half past midnight because she still wasn't there (had been out searching for her). I was CERTAIN that she'd either got lost, or had dropped dead in someone else's garden.
S (bless him) got up and dressed and went searching for her, but no joy.
I fell asleep crying.
This morning, S opened the bedroom window to look out - still no Suki! I started crying again, and got up to check the back door. There she was. Miaowing for food. I let her in and dribbled tears on her while she ate the food I had just put out for her. She was fine, because it was quite a warm night. But I felt SO guilty in case I never saw her again. She is 18 and a half, you know. |
