I haven't updated in ages, the combination of being busy and lazy has pushed blogging to the back of my agenda.
In case you weren't aware, I am in Denver now, I've been having fun. :) The first few days here were hard, I didn't know anyone and I missed my friends, but I've made new friends here and all is well. Classes are ok, right now I'm mostly in foundations classes that aren't all that different from what I did in high school, but once I start taking more major-specific ones it'll get much more interesting (I'm going for a degree in 2-D animation). My drawing teacher is just as evil as one of my high school teachers was, denying me the right to use pencils in order to "see what happens when I have no control". I understand why he's pushing me to try new things, but I don't like the charcoal, I want my graphite back *poutyface*.
My friends and I went to a club last night, it was the first time any of us had ever been to one. It was, um... interesting. I can't really decide if I liked it or not, I think it would've been more fun if we didn't keep getting hit on by creepers. We decided that next time we're bringing guys we know with us so as to avoid those sorts of situations. One guy offered me a beer, I was like "no thanks, 19..." XD I've had a few drinks with my aunt in the privacy of her home, but I plan to avoid alcohol at parties and other similar situations. I've never been drunk so I don't know what the consequences will be, nor do I ever want to find out.
Dorm life is pretty cool, ours is an old hotel that was renovated to become student housing. It's got students from a couple different schools that aren't big enough to have their own dorms. I have a roommate, who I get along with pretty well (she's hardly ever here anyways). I really wanted a room with a view of the mountains, but instead I get to see beautiful I-25 in all it's asphalt glory. One day I got really bored and started counting how many different colored VW Bugs passed by. I got to 9 within an hour. Surprisingly I can't hear the highway from my room, even though it's right outside. I wish our doors were that soundproof- there's this group of people that frequently like to get drunk and hang out in the hallway. I was once woken up by screaming laughter at 3 am. On a Wednesday. What. The. Hell. Can't they hang out in another school's hallway? I have 8am class that day, ass-holes, shut up.... If it's a weekend, ok fine, I can deal with it, but on days when everyone has class? Seriously? For the most part everyone is pretty friendly, if I pass someone in the hall we usually say hi even if we don't know each other, but some of them really need to tone down the obnoxiousness.
The weather here in Colorado is pretty similar to Indiana, just much dryer. Which I like, it's nice being able to walk outside in the summer without my hair instantly becoming frizzy. Apparently there is no such thing as Autumn, though. The leaves are starting to change color, but it's been a pretty consistent 75-80 degrees the whole time I've been here. The dorm has a pool, which was open until about mid-September and then they closed it for the season, even though it's still very nice and swimable outside. I was sad. According to one of my friends, who is a Colorado native, it'll be really nice out for a while and then one day it'll just start snowing and it won't stop until April.
Well, that's pretty much it for me right now, what's up with you guys?
