Tonight, Dan and I are having my parents over for dinner. WEIRD!!! The purpose is two-fold: numero uno, to introduce them to our apartment! I mean, they helped us to move in, and my mom has stopped by a couple times since to drop stuff off for me, but they haven't had a nice official tour. And two, to get Dan off his butt and finish unpacking all of the boxes! He's doing it as I type, and it's almost all done. Pictures to be posted on facebook once the place is nice and cozy.

But anyway, the thought of having my parents over for dinner is quite alien to me. And a little nerve-wracking. I'm still used to going over there for dinner, but now that I'm living here and my sister has moved out, there's this "formal occasion" feel to eating with my parents. Like, we're cleaning obsessively and I'm even stressing a little over what to wear. If I were at my parents' house for dinner I might be wearing pajama bottoms and a crappy tank top, but in having them over, I feel like I have to put thought into my dress. I mean, I'm not wearing a skirt, but I'm not wearing the sweaty t-shirt and shorts I'm in right now, either.

Speaking of sweat, the weather here is 92 degrees. AAAAAAHHH! Did I mention we don't have air conditioning? Not that big a deal, we have a nice fan in the bedroom, but we have ALL of the windows opened up right now and I still feel gross.

On tonight's menu, mixed crostinis with capanata, and "Italian BLTs" for the meatatarians with this fancy bacon stuff, as well as salad, and Dan's making some coffee-flavored Italian ice type thing. And homemade lemonade.

I'm so spoiled.
