As the director of TEN INCH HERO I am really saddened by the links out there that offer up a download of the movie from Sweden or Portugal. If this continues the film will not be released in the US! This means you will never be able to own or rent a DVD that works on your DVD player at home, or your laptop in the US. You will never get to see the film in its finest, most beautiful form and you will never appreciate all the hard work we went through to entertain you. If we CAN put a stop to this, the film will be released in the US in a few months. If not, the US distributor will drop it.

Thank you for your help in stopping this pirating. It only serves to hurt the star (Jensen) who I suspect you are trying to support.

Ok now i have my personal unpopular opinion on it.
I haven't seen the movie yet and I have ordered it from the Swedish website because I am in Italy and they ship here.
I had to order a copy for a friend in Russia, since they don't ship there. So yeah, it's a little bit complicated to have the movie.

Now it bothered me what he said because, you know?, he can't be so naive to believe people wouldn't have ripped it. This doesn't mean the same people are not going to buy the dvd but let's face it: the movie has been filmed two years ago and it didn't get the recognition they wanted (I can't judge since i haven't seen it and Jensen is not enough to make a movie good or bad, if you get what I mean). It was a indie movie, they knew the risks. I bet a lot of indie movie, even better than TIH, have not gotten a distribution. After two years, they should be grateful we are still talking about it. We talk about it. None else.
Throwing Jensen name in the middle of the what he said was lame, because you know...I don't think Jensen is losing his sleep over the future of the movie and I don't see his career damaged by the illegal downloading. I mean he doesn't need TIH.

Yes it's a pity they haven't realesed it yet in the US and yes, the downloading can damage the movie, but if they (and I mean the distributors) had realesed it in the US, they would have made a lot more money. Honestly, I don't see it as a smart move to have it in Europe where all the actors involved are a lot less popular than in the US. Not to mention the language problem.

Directors and producers know too well that downloading is a inderct form of adverstising. I download SPN, I own all the seasons in DVD. I bought them.
They use the download when they know they can take advantage of it, while they call it evil.
In Italy only two seasons of Spn aired but a lt of people have already bought S3 dvds...now would it have been possible without the dl? No. And they did make money from it. So yes, it sounds hypocritical to me. And we are too, if we dl eveything and then stands up for what he says.
I see his reasons and I partially agree, I understand and respect TIH director point if view, but I guess there's more than downloading that damages the movie. I will come back on this topic once I see it.
