I've recently developed a ridiculous addiction to tea. I simply cannot stop drinking the juices of dried plant matter. I've always been rather partial to mint tea (two teabags, please - no sugar), but lately I've been drinking anything I can get my hands on. At Kroger they had some tasty sampler packs of fruit teas for a dollar (whoo!), so John and I have been testing these out. For such a low price, they're surprisingly good, and so far, I'm really diggin' on the peach and raspberry teas. I think they'll taste great cold next summer. (ACK! IT IS FALL!) Currently I'm enjoying a fairly strong English Breakfast tea, which is delicious with honey. I blame my new-found habit on all the British television I've been watching.
Sadly, the handle on my second favorite mug is definitely going the way of the pony express. In my hurry to finish the dishes, I dropped a glass right onto the handle, giving it a good crack. Luckily, it wasn't my favoritest mug -Lucy's Psychiatric Help booth! The doctor is in. :p
Hooray for new icons and interests! I think I'm way too into my eljay sometimes.
So they're apparently killing off Batman? I have previously refused to listen to explanations as to what is going on in the storyline, but this saddens me greatly. Next I suppose they'll have some punk-ass kid with a taste for justice stumble upon his abandoned Bat-cave and take over VIGILANTE NINJA STYLE. Or the Justice League will get involved. Probably the latter. But I'm still sad. Horribly, horribly sad.
Halloween is... wow, two days away. EEEEK. Heather and Ryan and Nash are hosting an in-game NERO party at their house, at which I am assembling a cheese plate, a fruit plate, fried mac n' cheese, and possibly beignets (french doughnuts, for those not in the know). Ryan is making tasty alcoholic drinks, as is John (ever the little bartender... who refuses to sample his own goods), and I suspect I'll be feelin' pretty good. And! No foreseeable hangover in sight, as it appears that vodka is the only drink to turn my stomach in such a nasty manner.
Indeed, it is fall. I missed the opportunity to start a great photo project that I guess will have to wait until I'm staying somewhere slightly more permanently. The tree outside of our apartment, hanging over the little pond, is changing colors finally. It is beautiful. This is the first time I've been excited about cold weather and sweaters and (gasp!) holidays since... well, ever. It's a nice sort of feeling.
Angie's been regularly sending my pictures of my baby (MINE. ALL MINE. MINE I SAID.), which is superbly exciting. I can't believe she's almost two months old and I STILL haven't held that baby in my arms. I just want to put her entire head in my mouth - she's just that cute.
On the note of ridiculous cuteness, I've actually been finishing projects lately. Exciiiiting! (I figure the more I hype myself up about it, the more I'll be able to get done.) Currently, I've got a regular Spooky finished, and a Fat Spooky ready for detailing. Which shouldn't take very long... as soon as I can find my white thread. >.< I'm getting much better at finishing them faster, making both sides match each other (SO. INCREDIBLY. IMPORTANT. OCD.), and have been able to put most of the projects down with a sense of "hey, that actually looks pretty good" instead of "ANGST EMO HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE". Which is nice.
Another current project? A quote book. I've always had the tendency to write down funny or interesting or thought-provoking things other people have said, but I found I had an extra notebook laying around, and figured what-the-hell. I'll probably post a few of them here later. Does anyone have any they'd like to share?
Had a dream last night featuring (in no particular order) a mall, a negligent and bitchy inconsiderate teenage mother, Al'x ditiching me to hang out in a bathroom, a muppets doll, Drew Barrymore, a soap-opera rundown from someone who doesn't want to talk to me, a strange party, paintings that are windows that are doors, Six Flags, an innumerable amount of quarters and no paper currency to be found anywhere, an awkward conversation about tea, crayola red hair dye, a disappearing boyfriend, American Mcgee's Alice, and that girl. Who says she wants to watch a movie with us.
Sometimes, I really think I need to lay off the crack before bed.
