Recipe 24 was Quorn pilaff (nice - recipe made HEAPS)
Recipe 25 was Cock-a-leekie soup which I'm eating just now and is very tasty :) Very easy to make too.

Book 38 was 'Where Three Roads Meet' by Sally Vickers which was about Oedipus and Freud and was a bit strange but pretty good.
Book 39 was 'The Likeness' by Tana French which was the follow up to In The Woods that I was looking for and was almost as good :)

Literature challenge status: 39 /50 - 11 to go

NaNoWriMo also starts on Saturday and I think I've settled on an idea. I think I'm going to write a sort of memoir-y thing about my time in Japan. I know it's not technically a novel, although I may fictionalize it but the ethos of NaNoWriMo is: 'if you believe it's a novel, then we / they believe it's a novel' so I think it counts. Either way 50,000 words in 30 days, fiction or otherwise is still a bloody big challenge. It's also going to be a personal challenge to me as I still have some problems thinking about some of my time in Japan as I give myself rather a hard time over it but, ya know, I think it'll be good for me. So yes, stay tuned for NaNo updates.

Please also be aware that blog updates may vanish in to the either as I frantically pound out more than 1600 words a day. Wish me a luck!
