Captain Hammer/Dr Horrible, explained. With possible UST theory. :D

At first I was skeptical that this was even plausible. Dr Horrible is far too focused on getting into the Evil League of Evil, and Captain Hammer sleeps with far too many women. I just couldn't make it work in the current timeline. Even with the mentality of "he beats me but really wants to bone me," "he hates me but really wants to bone me," "he wants to kill me but really wants to bone me". I just didn't see it.

Then I realized that there is a past 'verse. In high school, Dr Horrible was the smart shy geek who just wanted to study and invent stuff, and Captain Hammer was a jock - the one who was popular and seemed nice on the outside but was an absolute @$$ to the science nerds behind closed doors.

Twist in around in a yaoi fangirl's brain: at one point in time, when they were younger, they were probably friends or the experimental "friends with benefits". But something happened and the relationship jilted; Billy was probably spurned by Hammer. Billy retreated, vowing revenge by getting into the Evil League of Evil; Hammer's ego became inflated, and he became the arrogant prick that everyone loved.

I don't know what's sadder, really. That I made it work, or how I made it work. o_O
