I went out with Mom yesterday to some antique shops that I had not been to in a good long time.

And I realized why.

The prices. Holy shit, the prices!

We went to one particular place in Santa Monica. It was literally stuffed with antiques. Some nice stuff, too. Good glass, some nifty things that can only come out of California.

The starting price on everything was 295.00.

As you can imagine, that got old rather quickly. If I want to go to a museum, I'd go. I realize that Santa Monica has tony clientele, what with the studios and it being a beach community and all, but really? 295.00 as a starting price? Gack!

I didn't buy anything. Well, I did buy some jewelry fixtures for the shop, but the grand total for that was much, much less than 295.00.

We are going to the Rose Bowl this Sunday, so hopefully I can get some interesting stuff cheap. The shop is a forever a hungry monster that you have to feed. I'm also looking for some rhinestones, which I was told could be found at the Rose Bowl.

I got an email from the ex. He's insisting that we divide up debts first, then the house.

I pray I have the patience to deal with him.

Tomorrow I register for classes! Yeah! I'm so excited! If only I could find a job...
