It's been a busy start to the new month, and I haven't had the chance to post just because I've been keeping myself pretty busy. Take for instance the fact that I have given myself to just the 15th of the month to make up my mind as to where I want to have the wedding reception. So far the officer's club is wining, if for no other reason than because the price is right. However, that leaves the debacle of finding a place to actually get hitched and someone to do it.

Dan and I saw Zohan last week. It was the first movie we'd shelled out for in a while, but we decided that we wanted to see if before it left the theatres with the holiday movie releases coming in. I have to say that I spent half the movie asking myself why I wasted ten dollars and two hours, while I spent the other half laughing my butt off. A few things though...... I never want to see Adam Sandler shaking his package again in my entire life! What's the big deal with the hummis? And the hackey sack? And dear god..... why did Adam Sandler take a fake fish up the butt? I was actually kind of surprised by a few things though..... one.... there were many old people at our showing, and none of them got up to leave even though the content wasn't exactly mild..... and..... two..... I am pretty shocked that there wasn't anyone howling about stereotyping, or bad imagery, or anything of a protest nature, given the subject matter.

Rob, Dan's older brother, came home this past weekend...... so a lot of time was spent with the Krain's. Pretty much all of our time. We were there on Friday when he got in, and stayed over for a bbq, which was pretty nice. Then Saturday morning Dan, Rob, Stephen, and I went to the Amish Market in Annapolis for breakfast, followed by Barnes and Noble. Dan and I were back over there that night for a family game of Trivial Pursuits. Sunday was quieter, and we didn't spend more than a few hours in the afternoon with them. On the whole Rob is a pretty decent fellow, although he really needs to learn to keep his temper in check, to treat his brother better (he was always treating Dan rather poorly), and to leave behind his emo-hippy-artsy-environmentalist-I'm-so-counter-culture-and-more-knowledgeable-than-you attitude. It was kind of funny a few times when he'd start in on subjects to talk about them, and then I would chime in my opinion, and he would promptly shut up. Dan told me he does that sort of thing whenever he realizes that someone else knows more about something than he does, and he doesn't want to look like and idiot. Another great thing was when we were walking out of Barnes and Noble Rob asked to see what Dan had bought (he had my stuff in his bag too) pretty much saying that Dan never read anything decent, and it would just be full of bad sci-fi. Well he opened it to find an issue of Modern Bride on top which quickly got him to shut his trap, then proceeded to find a copy of a Star Wars book (also mine), and a comic book which when he tried to say that no one else read it I chimed in that I did.

Another movie experience of the past few days was had last night. For the first time in my life I sat down and watched a Batman movie. I have been so skeptical of them for a long time saying that I didn't like them.... but then again I had also struck a bargain with Dan saying that if he went to see Mama Mia with me then I would see the new Batman with him. What I didn't know was that in his mind the deal was void if I didn't watch Batman Begins first. So last night we sat down and watched it. I was rather surprised when I was really into it. I mean when did super hero movies become good? Although honestly this one I couldn't help but like given all of the actors in it..... Christian Bale, Liam Neeson, Ken Watanabe........ So much to my disgruntlement I have discovered that I actually kind of like Batman movies...... *sigh*

On a really unrelated note...... Anyone want to meet up in DC later this month for some sushi??
