For everyone who doesn't know, Shippuuden in Japanese means Hurricane, and today is the weekly Naruto: Shippuuden episode, which gets me in the mood to review the series so far. Before I being though, I do not read the manga so don't post any spoilers about Itachi raping Sasuke or something in the future or if Naruto ever becomes a Chuuin (Seriously, he could kill everyone at the Chuunin exam by now).
The series takes place around two years after the massive amount of filler episodes that just simply named Naruto. No, I don't know why the second part is called "Hurricane" other then to try and sound cool, but as the name implies you can guess there's more action this time around. But don't let that discurage you drawn out story lovers, there's STILL flashbacks to Naruto being emo and all alone and the writers trying to repeatedly tell us that Naruto is an orphan, but no matter the series is well done with Naruto's team actually getting important missions this time around rather then just resucing cats.
Sasuke, being the child who thinks that no one understands him is still missing, with Shippuuden focusing on Sakura (Who ironically is pretty flat chested compared to the artist's rendering of Tsunade and her double F's *Rolls eyes*) and Naruto trying to find him. Throughout the series so far they just get sidetracked and get miscule clues of his whereabouts, insuring another 100 episodes until they meet up with him.
I have to be fair though that they did meet with him around episode 50, which had Sasuke destroying everyone in duels (But no one ever dies in Naruto, so they were just defeated) and he disappears like the prick he is, this time not in a puff of smoke, but in fire (Badass).
By now, Sora has joined the party to fill the emo lacking part of Squad 7 and is pretty much exactly like Sasuke, minus the cool techniques.
I fear that Asuma will die since he's actually in the 3rd Opening (Since when did he get so important? *Hint hint*), and they're actually trying to fill out his character, but I predict he'll be cut down.
I'll review Code Geass on Saturday when the new episode is out. |
