First meal; 'chocolate' (coconut oil melted over very low heat, raw cacao powder, agave) coated banana, apple Followed an hour or so later by; a medium sized salad of lettuce, couple of chopped dates, baby carrots, sprinkled with celtic sea salt, lemon juice and a 'dressing' of guacamole (two thirds of an avo with onion, lime juice, black pepper, cayne & celtic sea salt) Snack; another 'chocolate' coated banana 'Lunch'; green smoothie with silver beet, soaked almonds, frozen raspberries, coconut oil, banana, dates, vanilla & raw cacao Dinner; brown rice with chickpea curry (forgot to steam myself some broccoli :/)
Thoughts; I woke up feeling really awful (it's been an incredibly busy week of limits pushing and fractured sleep) so i didn't eat for a few hours and then finally just grabbed the fruit as i didn't have the energy to make anything. This helped me get up the energy to make the salad, which helped me feel better. i was fighting a headache all day though and retired to bed where i finally caved in and took painkillers which is why i ate the second banana. Felt good enough to finally make my first green smoothie of the day, but it didn't satisfy like it normally does in the morning. And i still feel hungry, which is unusual after that amount of food.
I'm sure it's my blood sugar being silly after i skipped breakfast - i find if i start the day with a satisfying high protein meal i don't need to eat nearly as much over the course of the day, and especially at night when i am generally most peckish (i used to be a hunger monster at night back before i started experimenting with raw, but i nearly always skipped breakfast in my previous life & and often didn't eat much at lunch so i made up my calories/kilojoules in the evening i guess). Might munch on some more carrots & perhaps some dried fruit or more nuts before bed (though i don't really want more fat after all the coconut oil/avocado/nuts! Though i do believe raw fat is much better for you and can be eaten in higher quantities than cooked fat is still don't think a lot of fat is a good thing). And yes i know i need to cut back on the raw cacao ;p) |
