Oh my God!  So most of you have probably seen on Entertainment Tonight the preview of the TV series "True Blood."  When I saw the previews I thought it looked familiar...and then I figured it out.  "True Blood" is based off of the Charlaine Harris books, "Dead Until Dark," "Living Dead in Dallas," and "Club Dead" - collectively known as "Dead In Dixie."  Those are the ONLY other vampire novels I have read with the exception of the Twilight Saga.  Who would have thought?  Out of all the vampire books out there, I actually read the ones it's based off of...wonder why it's called "True Blood"?  It has the same characters - Bill Compton and Sookie Stackhouse.  It doesn't have that information on IMDb.com - so I submitted it.

I always found it odd how similar "Twilight" and "Dead in Dixie" are.  Think about it: in "Dead in Dixie," Sookie can read minds - all except for Bill (the vampire)...in "Twilight," Edward (the vampire) can read minds - all except for Bella.  In both books, the main vampire is trying to sustain himself on something other than human blood (in "Dead and Dixie," it's synthetic blood).  Hmmm...and the "Dead in Dixie" books were all published before "Twilight" (Book 1: 2001, Book 2: 2002, Book 3: 2003).

Curious.

Wonder if SMeyer read those books...

What do you guys think?  I little coincidental to me.
