While I am hoping the new Star Trek movie is good and is in desperate need of a reboot, ala James Bond, the above photo to me indicates that the film makers have a very difficult task ahead of them.

The original photo for me just exudes charisma, while the new version seems plastic and fake.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

From what I've heard, this movie has an environmental message. While I am all for the environment and protecting and preserving it, I don't feel this movie is the best vehicle for this message. The biggest issue I have is, would aliens really care if humans destroyed their own world? Instead of this, maybe humans had finally developed a Solarbanite bomb, I would find this concept more interesting.

Finally, it looks like they may actually do that remake of >The Birds that has been tossed around for years. If they do, how much do you want to bet they will answer "why" the birds are attacking. While I enjoy the Hitchcock film, the best thing about it is you never learn why they attack. That makes it all the more scary.
