So Colleen got a complimentary drink at the HoJo in Sudbury the night before last, and the two of us met these two truck drivers at the lounge when we went to redeem it. One was named Norm and the other we retro-actively named Phil because he never said his name. They were hilarious and gave us all kinds of tips about the drive ahead, and Norm said that today's drive was going to be the most beautiful drive of our lives. He was right! It was absolutely gorgeous and we couldn't get over it. When we asked what to call people from Ontario, expecting something like Ontarioans, "Phil" replied, "Dickheads!" So that obviously answered our question. :)
The drive was about 9 hours today, but stopped at some cool places along the way. We stopped at a couple scenic overlooks, a gorge, and of course a gas station. Gas is so much more expensive here! About $1.40 per litre (there are 4.5 litres in a gallon...). We also stopped at the Wawa goose, which Katie talked about. We then had lunch at a nice family diner in Wawa. It got down to about 10 degrees today, but stayed around 20 for most of our trip. Needless to say, we're getting used to the metric system and actually like it!
That's all for now, Jamie's going to write more about our time in Thunder Bay tonight. Check out some new pictures on the photobucket!
