I haven't posted in such a long time!  Okay, I'm going to let you in on why.  But please don't spread it around!  It's very embarrassing.  Eh-HEM.  I was in the National Spelling Bee for a while. Well, only for, like, a week, so that doesn't really explain my absence.  But I have been very busy with school, too!  It's over now, though.  Due to the spelling bee, I missed our end of the year dance.  Apparently it was very fun. :P
If you want to know how the whole cousin thing turned out, it was okay.  She and her friend Livi were actually in on this whole stealing thing with another teacher, and then they stole a bunch more stuff from other teachers, like Mr. M's pointer and Mr. U's podium (yes, an entire podium!).  They also stole a beanbag chair from the teacher who was in on it with them, Ms. R, so she wouldn't look suspicious.  Then, on the very last day of school, they told a bunch of seventh graders to give the stuff back for them.  Boy, was Ms. L mad! (She's the original victim, I forgot to mention.)  And Ashton, Livi, and Ms. R were never unveiled.  Even though everyone knew it was them.
I suppose you want to hear about the spelling bee, too.  It was sort of lame.  I only made one friend, Mallika, because everyone else was very cliquey.  I went out in the first round.  See, they had this online test to take, which had fifty words, and twenty-five of those words were counted.  Each word spelled correctly out of those twenty-five was a point for us.  Then we had to spell a word in front of the judges, and it was worth three points.  They added up all your points, and anyone with at least twenty points went on to the quarterfinals.  I only got thirteen, and I missed the word in front of the judges, which wouldn't have helped me win, anyway.
It was okay other than that.  I got to go to the National Gallery of Art, and it was very nice.  They had this super, super, super old illustrated book, which looked a lot like a comic book.  It was completely awesome, but I couldn't take a picture. D: We also went to the national zoo, and I got some good pictures of the peacocks.
There was also a dance after the awards banquet.  That was fun.  They played really good songs like Hey Ya! and All Star and Shout and some more current songs like Girlfriend and Please Don't Stop The Music.  They played very little rap, if any at all, which was really great.  I danced with a boy whose name I still don't know.  And it went on until midnight when the DJs had to leave.
So, right now, it's raining really hard, and there's supposedly a tornado warning.  I really hope there aren't any tornadoes nearby.  I'm terribly afraid of violent wind-funnels in the sky.

DID YOU KNOW: In the last three thousand years, no new animals have been domesticated?
