I am sooooo glad it's the weekend- this week has been crazy, in good and bad ways.

Tuesday was blah, but it got reeeeally bad during Practicum. Since Rocky is over, we finished up the cleaning we were doing without fear of moving something important. I was stupid enough to volunteer, along with Jackie, Jackie (yes, two of them) and Alex, to sort gels. Gels, if you don't know, are the colored things you put in front of stage lights to make the different colors. There were boxes upon boxes of the things. We had to throw out the ripped or faded ones, and then our teacher told us we had to sort them by number. And each color is seperated by shade of color. It was mind-numbing. Worse, our teacher told us we'd be out early, and we got out late. Three freaking hours of sorting and storing colored peices of cellophane. Jackie was spewing out a stready stream of obscenities by the end.

Wednesday was fun- we had a Halloween party in improv. I was supposed to dress as a diva, so I did. Much fun. We did improv stuff as our characters, which was cool. I might upload pictures later- the uploader is not working right now.
After class, Kendra and I went to see our advisor, Mark, to sign up for times to schedule our classes next semester. Mark seems quite nice, though it was weird to meet him while I was dressed as a diva. But I am looking forward to our meeting.

V&S was... interesting. None of us knew the whole poem we were supposed to know, though I know at least I studied nothing else between Monday's class and that class. But after that, we did translations, and it was fun because we all had the giggles. A wrong symbol made us laugh. A dropped piece of chalk sent us into hysterics. Why? No idea. But it was fun!

Today, I had a math test, which went horribly. I knew the material, but the questions were so complicated. But T&E was great, because it lasted only about half an hour! Our teacher was ecstatic that the Phillies won the World Series and didn't have a voice, having been at the game last night. But I was freaking because he said he was handing back our second formal essay and that, if we got a three or lower on either essay, we would have to have a conference. Anyone with higher would be exempt. I was sure I'd never get higher than a four because he had told us that, if we got a four out of five on our first (as I did), we would have to really apply everything he'd suggested and improve a lot. I knew I hadn't done that... and I really didn't want a conference where I was told I wasn't doing as suggested. When I got my paper back, I was in such a hurry to see my score that I tripped over a chair. But finally, I turned to the back page and saw my score- A FOUR!!!!! Yay!!!! Especially since I thought my essay sucked. Let's see what he thinks of the sucky essay I submitted last night.

I'm watching Mis Potter right now. It's weird... though I like Renee Zellweger as an actress, I don't really like her in this film. However, the romance is completely adorable. I love it. So why do all the good guys have to die? (And as it happens, most of the good guys who have died in the last few movies I've watched have actually existed, which makes it worse.)

I passed up an audition today... I feel so guilty. But it was The Vagina Monologues and another production like it, and that is material I just don't think I could do right now. If it was a mainstage production, I would have auditioned just to get my name out there, but it was a barely-publicized show, which means there would probably hardly be anyone there, so I'd probably get a part (there are a LOT of roles in the shows, I'm not being concieted.) I mean, i admire what the shows were written for- to spread knowledge about the abuse and neglect of women- but I don't think I am a good enough actress to get over my discomfort with the subjects of the monologues. I hate passing up auditions- I usually go to all of them, whether I fit the description or not. But this one wouldn't work for me.

I am, however, very excited for an audition I have in two weeks, for the television show Forensic Files. I don't think I'll get anything, as it's for reenacting crime scenes- though it'd be pretty awesome to play an eighteen year old criminal... especially if it was historical.

Speaking of historical, I am really missing Columbia Haunted Lantern Tour. If you're unaware, this is a tour of a historical town in my home area that I did every October starting when I was fourteen. I played the part I chose first- the real life maid, Mary Gable- for three years, and then a really tragic character named Katherine last year. I absolutely loved all of the people as well as being in a historical show (and wearing a corset, though that idea is better as just an idea). I really wish I could have done it again this year- I really miss it, especially last weekend and this weekend coming up, as they are performing then. I can't believe I miss freezing my butt off in the pouring rain the graveyard, but I do. (Although, if I was able to do it again, I would ask for a different part- I was an awful Miss Katherine. Even though I love her story- I'm writing a screenplay based off of it- I was just soo bad- and also too young for the role. They had me wear a veil to disguise my age during the performances.

I ordered some pictures through Comcast's picture-printing company about two weeks ago. They have still not arrived. The day after I ordered them, I warned the school post office that the package would be addressed to my Comcast e-mail address, not me. They said okay and made a note of it- a literal note. I watched them. Well, it's been two weeks and I've been planning to phone the company this weekend to ask what the deal was, but I thought I would check to make sure if they were at the post office before I called them.
So I went to the office and explained the situation. After about fifteen minutes of explaining that, no, it wasn't my name or my school e-mail it was addressed to, but my home e-mail address. After they asked what that was and I mentioned it had the word "theatre" in it, one of the guys said he thought he had sent it to the theatre office (I know it had the word "theatre" in it, but I don't think anyone in that department has such an unprofessional e-mail address.) So, making what was supposed to be a five-minute trip much longer, I traipsed down to the theatre office. After a long search, I accepted that it wasn't there, either. So... my pictures are lost. I am still going to phone the company, but if they did indeed send them, I don't know what to think.

I'm getting pretty nervous- NaNoWriMo starts the day after tomorrow. Ahhh! We are required to write a certain number of words a day, which will be hard on Tuesdays...

Quotes of the Day from Miss Potter:

"Your brother has asked me to marry him. And I feel- rather irrationally- that I should say, well... yes."

"Beatrix should me my neice, Anne. She makes pots." "Ceramics." "They look like pots to me."
