Here's what it looks like, in pictures, from idea to published.

Well, first you have to have an idea. I tried to Google image "idea," but they were all pretty lame, your basic lightbulb stuff. But you have to have an idea before you can start writing, even if it's just a little spark.

Next, you need to work out your idea. Think about it all the time. And write it down. Take notes. Think about things like, Who is my protagonist...really??

Then write, then rewrite, then write, then rewrite....These are just some of the drafts of Total Knockout.
 

Then, once your editor says it's ready, you get it back in this big print out, so you can edit it a little bit more.
 

Then, Simon & Schuster puts it in their fall catalogue.
 

Then it's printed...



Then you celebrate!

Okay, so this is way simplified, but I'm very sleepy and working very hard on my next book. Right now I'm on picture two.
