Yesterday I made it to the final Odin Sphere boss.
I didn't expect that tiny Leventhan from before to grow up so large. The moment I set foot in that battle and tried to find a way to defeat him using Mercedes I suddenly get reminded of Dragon Ball Z. LOL I used: Velvet VS Darkova The bad ending was pretty sad, made me wish I didn't use her. Cornelius VS Gallon After training Cornelius and getting rid of my ingredients to make Fruit Yogurt Mousse, I still had a bit of trouble subduing Gallon because I kept attacking at the bad moments. I also used up 10 Ns in this battle; it didn't do that much damage though. His bad ending was pretty fucked up as well. Just seriously, wtf grandfather? I don't think he and the citizens of Titania deserved a cruel death like that. Gwendolyn VS Onyx Given Onyx's large size plus Gwen's special homing attack I thought it was a match made in heaven. She can use her attack to damage and put out those annoying flames that Onyx spreads! An easy win using Gwendolyn! I feel really bad for Onyx though. ): Oswald VS Cauldron Frustrating battle. Oswald's double jump causes me trouble when I climb up the small platforms because he often misses and lands below. I gave out a cry of joy when it was finally over. Wow. Wow. WOW. I don't believe it! I think a generic bad end with the Cauldron is the worst thing that can happen to you. You just vanish and leave behind your weapon just like that. It was very sad and shocking and filled me with rage. Mercedes VS Leventhan This is the part where I went, "How the hell should I defeat him!?" because of the way Leventhan was designed. His monstrous figure just overwhelmed me. orz Currently Mercedes is the weakest of the five characters. I gave up and didn't save and turned the game off.
Oh and my brother finally bought a Fatal Frame game! It's Fatal Frame 3, which I played for a while and pretty much convinced me to wait for the morning to come before sleeping and hope I won't have any Fatal Frame 3 related dreams. I played it using reversed controls because I can't play properly after playing with .hack//G.U.'s controls for so long.
The start is pretty boring and it didn't give you a tutorial until after the prologue and several scenes in the game have passed in form of notes. I made it to the first half of the Third Hour before I turned off the game. Needless to say I'm going to start again to get more spirit points for my camera upgrades. The background noises are quite creepy and it reminds me of Resident Evil 4's atmospheric music. It didn't help that the manor is dark in a lot of places and Rei's small flashlight can only do so much. I'm somewhat annoyed at the change of perspective in the camera, say you've just opened a door, sometimes the camera shows your player's front profile instead of giving you a next to the shoulder view, I mean, what if the enemy is right in front of you but you just can't see it!?
Another the freaky thing is the gradual[?] spirit hauntings in your own home! adjaslkdj Reminds me of Silent Hill 4's apartment invasions. SO SCARY. I didn't expect things like that to show up in the safety of my own house. |
