My apologies for not updating sooner. It's beena very hectic couple of weeks.
It's been my unofficial goal to see every adult production show on the strip. When I say adult prudction, I mean some of the femeal cast members are topless at some point, or the show is of an adult theme. After all, I am a guy!
My latest entry was "Crazy Girls" at the Riviera. Of course, you don't need to buy tickets to get a flavor for the show. All you need to do is walk along the strip along the front of the hotel. There is a sculpture out there featuring the back sides of the ladies, which is the same as the famous ad that is everywhere in Las Vegas. I heard vaious stories that it was there, but I didn't believe them. Guess I was wrong.
But, I decided to see the real thing. I went to the half price booth hoping to get a bargain for the show. And, at first, I thought I did. but, you have to be a little careful when buying tickets there. If it's an assigned seating show, you have a little less to worry about. But this is a general admission show with various ticketing levels.
I had purchased a ticket in the preferred section thinking that it was a VIP seat. It was not. I guess preferred meant that you get a better seat in front of the general admission section in the back of the room. I found this out from a friendly and very helpful ticket agent at the box office. (When you buy from the half price booth, you have to exchange your voucher for a ticket at the box office.) So, I decided to pay the extra $15 for the VIP seat. That entitled me to a line pass and one of the best seats there. It's a small showroom, but the VIP seat isn't a bad deal.
Now, on to the show itself. First of all, it's the 20th anniversary of the show. If a show can go for 20 years in Vegas, you're doing something right. So, congratulations to everyone invoived.
First the bad. I wasn't a big fan of the pacing of the show. They start with a long video about the girls and their exposure out in the media. You see about every highlight that the girls have ever been on. In a shorter dose, I think that's a cool idea because it adds the connection tto them before the show ever starts. But, for me, it lasted way too long. I was a little bored with it towards the end.
Then the show starts and the girls do their first number...a very lively current song. But, just as I was getting interested again, they go straight to a magician. It broke up the energy of the show. Not that the magician wasn't talented, and later in the show, I might have really dug it. It was just too early to break up the pace.
The only other problem I had with it was it would do a new contemporary song, then switch to a slow plodding song. I think they need to keep the energy level up and pick spots in the shows where they bring it down.
But, of course, the women are gorgeous. They really seemed like they were having fun and wanted the crowd to have fun too. In fact, in one scene, I even got to dance with the ladies. They were all very nice. Their personalities really shined throughout the show. There were sexy parts, and funny parts during the show. And, I really enjoyed the Crazy Girls cast members.
They used props and many costume changes throughout the show. I'm a sucker for a sexy teacher skit, and this show had one. They also used a carousel horse during the show very well. The women have talented and they can definitely dance.
Towards the middle of the show, another comedian/magician came out for his set. he's the kind of act, you'd expect to see at a topless revue, and I thought he was hilarious. He had the crowd roaring, and he did involve the crowd in his act.
While this show may not be as slick as Fantasy, but I found myself rooting for the women. Enthusiasm and friendliness go a long way with me, and the women were friendly even after the show. I thought it was cool that some of them stood at the showroom door and thanked people for coming. Ah, the meet and greet, it's so important. The girls also sold signed T-Shirts for $20. With that, you can get your pic taken with the girls. When I first approached them, there were only two there. They asked me to hang around so I could get a pic with more of the girls. I thought that was really nice of them as it would have been easy to take the pic with the two that were there and moved on. But, they chatted with me until more arrived. I have the lovely poloroid to prove it.
So, would I recommend the show, yes. I think the personality of the cast members is reason alone. They're beautiful and they'll work hard to give you your money's worth. I'd even spring for the VIP seating. This is a matre'd show, but I didn't see the need to add an extra tip and they really didn't ask for one.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I visited my friends at Fantasy again. When you've seen a show as many times as I do, you stop looking at the overall parts of the show and look at individual things. So, I decided to really pay attention to what Stephanie and Tara did during the show.
At the forefront, I was very inpressed with Tara. I found out after the show that she wasn't feeling her best, but went out and did a great job as usual. I think that's really cool that despite being ill, she went out to dance to make sure that the audience had a great time. Tara's an amazing dancer and a beautiful woman. She always gets a great hand when they introduce the girls at the end. And, she always gets a lot of applaus from me. But after that show, she also got even more of my respect.
And, when you're the emcee/singer for the show, your energy has to be up all the time. You have to keep the crowd energized. And, stephanie is great at that. She's excited and you can't help but be excited too. She's got an amazing voice and she is fun to watch. I always think the guy she picks to be a part of the show is a lucky guy. It's an experience that a guy would never forget, just ask my brother...he got the Fantasy treatment.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * And, speaking of Stephanie. I was very proud to be a member of her team for the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure. It's such a wonderful cause, and I was proud to be a part of it. I was even prouder to have finished the race. It's tough walking for a great distance when you're out of shape and getting older. But, I DID IT. It was cool seeing Stephanie before the race, and she did a great job running the course. I was really proud of her.
So, what's next. I still want to see Blue Man Group. Ah, maybe someday.
...Until Next Time! |
