I've finally got round to posting again, what with the insane amounts of revision and piano practice that have to be done these days... Anyway, just a few things.

My CRB check arrived in the post this morning. After taking my passport, an exam certificate and a bank statement for a few weeks, it came back with a piece of paper stating that I have absolutely no criminal record whatsoever, which wasn't exactly a surprise. I'm really rather pleased with it though, because as well as being a necessary requirement for South Africa, I'll also be able to show it to anyone else who asks. The completion of this means that Liz at Travellers can now go ahead and find flights for me, which is kind of the last important thing! It's all starting to get rather exciting now. But all I can think about for the moment is exams, so I'm not allowing myself to get too carried away thinking about my summer activities just yet.

Unfortunately, my friend Richard has had to pull out, which is a bit of a blow. His mum couldn't come up with the money - and he has other important things to pay for, like his driving insurance - so he thought it would be best if he starts his gap year without having to declare bankruptcy. It will certainly change the trip a bit! I mean, we had been down to work in the same school and stay in the same house. But it doesn't matter too much; I'm just back to Plan A, which was to go by myself and have a totally clean sheet.

/>Strangely enough, I know of someone else who's going to be in Knysna at the same time as me! Looking through the Travellers group on Facebook, I found a message from Emily, who was asking if anyone else was going to be there at the same time as her. She's going for a couple of months so I'll be there for some of that time. I messaged her and she messaged back, and we've both been getting rather excited about it and wondering whether we can take hair straighteners!
