“This is the first two issues of my comic, Pure Dysfunction. It’s about a couple and how the spiral downward from happy to hell,” I explained in a monotone voice. Monotone 'cause she's gawffic, of course. God forbid a Jhonen!Sue have the tiniest bit of enthusiasm for anything.

“....How old are you, Miss?” a woman asked.

“Hmm....well, your artwork looks like a 13 year old did it, and the layout isn’t very good,” a man said, flipping through the pages.

“Work on your artwork and the layout and the story, and we may consider you next time,” a second man said, handing me the books. You know, this was all constructive criticism. Surely the author/self insert will not react badly to concrit if she really wants to be an artist-

I took them, nodded, and slunk off. Those three just insulted my artwork! -And I stand corrected. They insulted the style of drawing that took me over 10 years to perfect!!!!!!!!! MY STYLE! HOW DARE THEY!?!?!? The words '12 year old DevianTard' come to mind.

I sat down at an empty table set out for people to rest at and sighed. That made 13 production companies. How many more would turn me down? Where there more? Or did I just get turned down by every comic producer in the states? How much longer would I have to wait?

“Mind if I sit here?” a man asked.

“Sure,” I nodded, not looking up from my comic.

I had gotten everything copyrighted, professionally bound, and everything. I was ready for publishing! Just one problem. No publisher.

“Mind looking at this real quick? I need an opinion from someone that doesn’t have a stick up the deep crevices of their ass,” I said, handing the guy my comic and still not looking up. Their ASS? They all share one? What, is everyone in the comic book industry a giant set of conjoined-at-the-buttocks twins?

“Sure,” he agreed, and took it.

“I just got turned down by the 13th publishing company I’ve shown it to. I guess no one likes morbid humor anymore,” I said, mainly to myself. No, no one likes artists who refuse to admit to being anything like than perfect. There is a difference.

Dun dun dun. Note that the third chapter is down for editing, which scares me because I've seen this story cycle through ten edits and reposts without dying. WHEN WILL IT END?!
