December 30th rolled around and, as is apt to happen, I knew of no New Year's parties happening so, as I am apt to do, I decided to attempt yet another last ditch effort and host a party. Typically what will happen for these things is that Chasse will come along with 2 or 3 other people, so I wasn't really setting my hopes high. Billy was coming in from Oswego to spend the night so at the very worst, the two of us could eat all the food and just hang out.
A whiles into the party, it was myself, Billy, Chasse and Joe Collins, but I had gotten texts from other people saying that they were coming. I was in a good mood, this party looked like it actually might be quite sweet. Eventually, Joe Piehler, Matt, Boyle, Bill Breon, Bill's brother Dan, both Dans, John Richardson, Steve Wuest and his girlfriend, Tom O'Toole and his girlfriend, Phil, Claire and her friend Cayer, all showed up. Pat and Jamie were unresponsive to texts and so forth, but at this point, I really couldn't care.
We played a big game of poker which ended up with Chasse, Matt, Joe and myself as the last players. So it felt like any other night where the four of us hang out. The was Wii and Guitar Hero and N64 and Super Smash Bros. and tons and tons of food.
Between 3 and 4 in the morning, Billy, Claire, Matt and I hit the sack as Billy had to drive home in the morning and Matt and Claire had work soon after they went to bed.
All in all, I think this was probably among my most successful parties and I was glad I decided to do it, and I am even more pleased that so many people showed up, and to them, I'm especially grateful.
In accordance with New Year's, I've decided that I will post a few resolutions, which, for the most part, will take effect once I get back to Cleveland. I resolve to: - Practice actually learning bass guitar (not just tabs) at least 3 hours per week. - Go to every single class. I'm going to do it this time. - Get a GPA no lower than a 3.5. - Maintain a more positive attitude. - Devise and stick to a regular workout regimen so that I can fit back into my clothes. - Keep my room/dorm more clean and organized. - Keep better track of my finances. - Be nicer to people even if they slight me or annoy me. - Stop whining about girls (or lack thereof).
That's all I could think of right now, but hey! If you can think of a good resolution for me, let me know. |
