I am watching Anne of Green Gables and I forgot how much I loved these movies. *_* I used to watch them when I was a little girl, on the Disney channel. I loved them so much that when I finally was old enough to get my own video store account I rented every single movie. There were about nine hundred thousand. Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonle, thinking back on it I can't really remember the plots for most of them and what I do remember is a little confusing.

I remember the first one, mostly because I also read the book, and that one I love. It's funny how just having this movie on it the background (not the first movie) takes me back to being a little girl. Just me and two sisters (a change from the three sisters, two brothers, one step brother and one step sister I have now) and our mum living in a tiny apartment smaller than the apartment I live in now. I'd stay up late at night and watch, glued to the screen.

Now, as I'm watching with more than ten years of growth and life experience I can't help but note the more infuriating aspects of these movies are.

Anne is a caricature of a feminist, all fire and brazen but deep down all she wants is love and she'll be devoted to the one man who gives it to her. It's like The Taming of the Shrew. Good god does that shit infuriate me. That woman was harder than nails but suddenly she meets some guy who gives it to her right and she'd let him walk on her hands if he asked it. I am dropping that tangent because I feel a first class tizzy coming on.

I suppose deep, deep, down I've always been a bit of a romantic... you tell anyone I said that and I'll kill you. >_~
