i am so frustrated and annoyed by the election at the moment. every four years, people go fucking CRAZY!
i absolutely hate the news/media, and try to watch/read as little as i possibly can, but that is difficult to do when you want to be informed. unfortunately, the news/media doesn't actually INFORM you of anything anymore. its just a bunch a people either, a) making up their own bullshit, or b) slamming those who disagree with them. it is an absolute joke, and makes me sick.
as per usual, i am undecided about who i will vote for. no candidate ever possesses all the qualities i would want in a president. i haven't been really 'into' any candidate since ronald reagan, and that was back when i was in the fourth grade (i think). in the past, i have always voted republican or independent. i have no clue where i really 'fit' with my convictions, since they are kind of all over the board. i hate that we are essentially a two party system, because technically, we AREN'T. and yet, realistically, we really are. i think that is sad and disappointing.
and i'm SO sick of hearing people say the same fucking thing they say EVERY FOUR YEARS. if their candidate doesn't get voted in, they are moving to canada (or europe). people, you never actually do this, so shut the fucking hell up about it! it infuriates me when people say shit like this. it screams juvenile to me. put up or shut up.
i hate that nobody can have an actual discussion about politics. as i said above, all you hear is people slamming the other guy, or the other party. its amazing how each side vehemently insists how stupid/uneducated/blind the other side is. that must mean EVERYbody is a fucking neanderthal. people, everyone is allowed their OWN OPINION. just because it differs from yours, does NOT make that person an idiot.
/>i'm sick of hearing about discrimination because a candidate is black, or a woman, or some other 'minority.' they are all HUMAN. and its also ridiculous that if you aren't backing one of these minorities, then it MUST be BECAUSE of said minority. um... maybe i just don't like them.
i have some very good friends who are staunch democrats, and some that are hardcore republicans. i want to ask each of them to write up a mini essay for me, explaining why they believe in their candidate. not to be an ass, but because i SERIOUSLY want to know. i need some help and insight here, and following the news/media (or even the candidates themselves for fuck's sake) sure isn't going to do me a damn bit of good.
god help us.
