I’ve the loan of a Nikkor 75-300 lens for a while to see if I want to buy it off of a guy here at work.  Last night’s mail included a set of replacement mounts for my tripod.  I did a mad-scientist thing and combined the two together.

300mm of zoom on a DX sensor is fairly impressive.  It’s the equivalent of a 450 lens on a regular 35mm camera.

I took some pictures of my DVD collection from about 15 feet away - you can clearly read some very very small text on the case spines in the photos.  I’ll try and take it out this weekend and see how it actually does in real life.
