In the midst of reading previously referenced book and test-listening Kid A, I heard a terrible noise. Such noises should not exist. I wondered to myself "Dear god! If this noise was in the song, I am not playing this track again."
Upon pausing and hearing the noise still lingering somewhere in the air, I left my room and found exactly what it was- the neighbors' Halloween decorations.

They go overboard every year. What's questionable is their taste. They hang "cobwebs" generously, plant inflatable Dracula right in front of a window...and yet they keep their birdbath in the middle of all the skulls, spiders, and- oh, yes -dead tree branches. If that doesn't look tacky, then I don't know what does.

I'm taking the long way to the gas station.
