A friend of mine really loves elephants, so I decided to crochet her one for her birthday. I used Ana Paula Rimoli's pattern in the Spring 2008 Knit.1 Magazine. I really like the way he came out, even though he does not look like the elephant in the magazine.

I was very happy to hear from my friend yesterday, "So I arrived home tonight to find that I had a new friend waiting for me by the mailboxes. His name is Barbar.  I must say he is by far the awesomest crocheted elephant I've ever seen. I see your powers are evolving. I like how his scarf matches mine. Thanks, you're so sweet!"

This is absolutely the best compliment anyone could get! :)
