The site was unbearable. There was either far too much gore to bear, or there was nothing left of the villagers. Haphazard piles of rubble and the increasing ruins of the area crushed the corpses, engulfing the bodies as red liquid oozed out around them. In contrast to the white sheet of the snow, the blood was clear but horribly foreign. She could see how their mouths were agape, as if they were killed before a scream of terror or rage could escape.
But more importantly, the emptiness of their gaze frightened her more so than the twisted and brutalized features of their faces and bodies. They were neither clear nor diluted, simply a haze of one or two colors that spelled out the reality of the horror she was a part of.
"Mother, Father, everyone...," she cried, shaking a long dead woman whose death blow had been on the head; there was red all over her face, but Yukimaru dismissed the sight out of desperation to wake the deceased.
"Please! Please, do not die. You must survive, all of you!" her cries of distress were abruptly put to an end when a strong arm wrapped around her form, lifting her from the shaking ground.
A man's voice followed shortly after the movement, calm and collected in contrast to the shouts of the surrounding villagers: "We must leave."
"No!"
"There is nothing we can do. Calm yourself, young one!"
Then reality hit her and she could only sniffle before silencing herself, albeit shaking uncontrollably as a result. In the midst of her tears, she could make out another figure beside the man holding her as he fleed, the additional presence catching up to the two over time. Yukimaru stared unseeingly at the mixture of white and blue, followed up by a disturbing smear of crimson where the person's face should have been.

".... your eyes. Can you not open them?"
"My vision has left me."
"But... how will you see?"
"There is nothing to see. I have seen enough."
Everyone was murdered. How could you say that? That would be cowering from the truth. I plead you, allow me to take a look at your wounded eyes. Something has to be done, it cannot be too late yet...! For the sake of our fellow villagers... I will do what I can.
[2% on the attack on the village, 1% on the loss of Fubuki's vision (while she doesn't quite know him yet, she knows that he is someone important). 0% unused, 6% total.
Yukimaru can be seen tending to thin air - as she sees Fubuki when he isn't there - in a state of devastation. She will see everyone as the victims of the massacre and believe that they are dying.] |
