As if the police actions at the RNC aren't enough to make you want start listening to NWA. Today I found this gem. It seems the Richland County Police Dept found it necessary to purchase an armored personnel carrier, complete with a mounted .50 cal belt fed machine gun.  Can anyone really honestly justify any police force having this?  We already have way too many SWAT teams and various other Black Water wannabes.


These people are endangering the lives of the public they are supposed to be serving nearly as much as they are endangering the criminal who they are going after.  How long until this thing is used in some lame ass drug raid in a residential neighborhood?  Do they know how long the firing lane on that gun is?  I really hope the remember the penetrating power of that thing when they do decide to fire it and consider common residential construction practices and materials.  I mean these things go thru brick and cinder block walls.  If it only catches siding, a chunk of 2x4 and some drywall, they could make a thru and thru shot on a house.

So now my political platform is going to not only cut military spending but police equipment spending as well.  Just remember the police work for you.  Their only job is to serve and protect the public.  When they act outside of that role they are no longer acting as police officers.
