Currently revising the "Cafe Flesh" piece before I send it off. The bulk of the article is pretty good but I always have to watch my apparent lust for comma usage and the occasional awkward sentence. There was a point early in my writing career when I would gnash my teeth, wishing I could be one of those writers who get everthing right at the first try. Then I smartened up and realized that writers far, far better and more seasoned than I have to go through the revision tango too. No one does this work because it's glamourous. But I love it and it is what I do. This stuff chooses you, you do not choose it.
Today is my day to clean and I'm even trying to someone decorate. Some friends of mine gave me this huge hot pink and orange, kitschy tablecloth. It's cute but our one dinner table is covered by change, bills, books, an old Asian chess table, and a plastic dinosaur or two. So I didn't want to waste a perfectly good tablecloth by having it swamped in our ephemera. Then it hit me, why not use it as a giant mod curtain? So that's what I did and I am really digging it. It's cute and it is keeping out the sun, which is great. I am more productive when I am not having to deal with sunlight and the heat. And it is friggin hot outside. (Just call me Countess Dorkula.)
I'm nowhere done with trying to get everything clean but hell, it's a start.
Random want of the day: A Kimono.
