I feel like a snot pinata.
My Nicaraguan cold did not, in fact, go away like I thought it was. Now, I am full of snot. It is gross. I took some Nyquil last night and slept for 10 hours. That stuff seriously knocks me out.
My aunt is steadily improving. By steadily, I mean its sort of two steps forward, one step back, but the progress is there. We are working on cleaning up the house in bits and pieces, but I don't know what to clean or where to start, so I can't do much without her direction. I have been doing the moving heavy furniture and vacuuming and such, but still. I hardly know where the dishes go, much less the pile of books and things on the table.
We went to lunch at the University of South Carolina's School of Hospitality. It was quite the meal, for ridiculously cheap. Buffet style 4 course meal with 2 desserts for $10. Since it is a training program, I guess they only charge as much as it cost to make the food plus a little to keep the restaurant profitable. They don't pay the wait staff or cooks, because they are students. Anyway, it was tasty. Tonight we are going to Trustus, which is a professional theater in Columbia. They have a "Irish dark comedy" at the moment. It got pretty awful reviews in the local free newspaper, but it was the play itself not the acting that got the bad review. I'm figuring that the sense of humor required to get dark comedy, particularly Irish dark comedy is rather unique, I might still like it.
Off to go do something marginally useful with myself. I guess I have to pick out a meal for tonight and make a grocery list. |
