After hearing about this place from various sources and seeing pix of Marie's bro and husband with swollen lips after eating the infamous spicy chicken wings, I knew Adrian would want to go. Marie challenged some fellas to try the spiciest wings on the menu (the Level 10) and of course, Adrian was game.

 

Yesterday was the day but by then everyone had chickened out (pun intended) and just wanted Level 5. We ordered 1 dozen Level 1 (to eat) for everyone and half-dozen Level 5 for the guys. This is in addition to each person's mains, shared fries and shared fried mushrooms. That was a helluva lot of food.

 

Level 5 was already hot according to the flushed faces and profuse sweating from the guys but Adrian insisted they go for Level 10. The waiter actually said "Level 10? are you sure?!" Talk about lack of confidence in our skills.

 

Level 10 came slathered with dark red sauce covered with chili seeds. Adrian took the first piping hot piece and ate it admist lots of loud gasps, snorts and exclamations. I think Marie might have a video of it.  After about 10 minutes of profuse sweating, watering eyes, swollen lips and difficulty in breathing, he proceeded to take his second piece. Repeat cycle of torture and then he took his third piece! I honestly was NOT in support of this ridiculousness cos I thought he would be suffering all night after such stupid bravado. Turns out I was wrong. Except the stupid wiping-eyes-with-napkin-when-his-hands-were-covered-in-hot-sauce incident (I knew it was a mistake not to wash his hands), he is completely fine.

Adrian: 2 Level 5, 3 Level 10

Allen: 2 Level 5, 2 Level 10

John: 1 Level 5 and 1 Level 10

Noel: 1 Level 5 and 1 (or was it 2) Level 1 and 1 fry covered with Level 10 sauce

Marie: 3 Level 1 and 1 fry with some Level 10 sauce

Mei Hui: 3 Level 1 and 1 fry with some Level 10 sauce

Wendy: 1 Level 1

 

BTW, the ribs were only so-so but the burger was gooood.

 

Rounded off the dinner with horror stories (that place is so remote that horror stories are just apt) and it was a fun night.
