I know I haven't been really updating at all for a while with anything with substance in it, so let me gather and list the spotlights from the last couple of month so you know what's been going on, and it goes into my memory log. :)

1) I got fired. Because they are assholes, end of story. It couldn't have possibly come at a worst time or in a worst way. The guy who did it did it with a huge smile on his face so much so that I thought he was joking and completely embarrassed myself. Not so much as a 'thank you' or 'I'm sorry', both of which were very much deserved. And yes, I do know how to fall gracefully - shake it off, thank them, shrug - but I was upset. I loved the job. I was one of the very few people who go to their part-time job because they want to be there and it showed. To add insult to injury, I e-mailed one of my managers who was actually great to me during my time there with thanks, and he replied "It was nice seeing you too, nice having someone who likes to touch my head when it's freshly shaven", which makes it sound like I was completely useless and did nothing but touch his fucking head. And of course not so much as an explanation, so I don't even know what I can work on. The only thing that is a consolation at all is that someday very soon they will be selling my book and effectually working for me. I'm going to miss working with books and I'm going to miss all but one employees, because as far as co-workers go, they were fantastic.

2) We had an official Thanksgiving and I got to prepare and make the turkey pretty much by myself. I was very proud of myself. There are pictures of me with my arm elbow-deep in its ass and rubbing it in garlic and oil, which are all disgusting and awesome.

3) I got a signed recipe book by Gordon Ramsay, the guy from Hell's Kitchen.

4) I went to a pre-screening of Max Payne, since Mark Wahlberg's a member of my gym. I would have to disagree with a lot of newspaper reviews and say it was quite good, and not in the same line with the Mario Brothers movie (which is one that deserves to be shot). Granted, I don't remember the actual video game too well, so it might have bastardized, but that doesn't matter to me. I'm almost sure little was borrowed from the actual game, and they were forward about that. It was visually enticing, the mythology behind it was fantastic, the plot was great, and the casting was spot on. When I heard that Mila Kunis was going to play Mona Sax - the Russian femme fatale - I had my doubts, since she's kind of girly and is famous for silly roles, but I was pleasantly surprised by her versatility. She had done an amazing job. So did Mark Wahlberg, but of him I expected nothing less. If I didn't go to the pre-screening, I probably wouldn't have gone to see it in theaters, but it was very well worth my time. It was pretty much all shot here in Toronto, too, so that was cool as well.
