Math17 third long exam was today. I woke up early since I was meeting austere_flare at Casaa for lunch. While we were eating, Z made an appearance and sat down at our table as well. I do not really care for Z's company since he annoys me sometimes but since there wasn't anything I could really do, I simply went with the flow of conversation while reading my notes.

austere_flare brought out her copy of Saiyuki vol.1 and I grabbed it and flipped through the pages, looking for the scene where Sanzo and Kougaiji meet for the first time. Sadly, it was in vol.2 ;__; But still, it was love going through the pages and fangirling over random images I came across XD

While the three of us walked towards the Math Building via the AS Walk, we passed by the stall selling books and I caught a glimpse of something Saiyuki. I wanted to go look at what it was but Z told austere_flare not to let go of me since we were going to be late for the exam as it was.

The exam was alright; I managed to answer everything except one question. Flist, do you of you guys know how to write log (1/4) in terms of log 3, log 5, and log 7? The answer eludes me.

After the exam, I made my way back to the AS Walk. The Saiyuki thing I glimpsed at the book stall was actually the Backgammon artbook. Comments/randomness for every page:

Page 01: Sanzo's chest
The word "BACKGAMMON" is carved onto his chest. And there's blood on his cheek and fingertips too~ I love bloody!Minekura!bishies *u*

Page 02: Sanzo's "prison" pic
WTF he's 7'5" in the pic. He's only around 5'10". And for someone who's being charged with murder, he's pretty calm.

Page 03: Sanzo posing. "Bad behavior of priest."
...Sanzo's a monk. Why does this say "priest"? Sanzo looks like a mafioso in the picture; with his pinstripes and cigarette and all XD Incidentally, Nobuta from BUS GAMER wore the same outfit in chapter one of the pilot edition.

Page 04: Goku's "prison" pic
In the pic, he's 6' o_O He's charged as a "breaker", whatever that means. Breaking and entering, maybe?

Page 05: Goku posing. "The high-spirited boy."
Shouldn't that be "monkey"? XDD

Page 06: Gojyo's "prison" pic
Gojyo's height is stated as 8'. That's...absurdly tall. He's being charged with "obscenity". Why am I not surprised.

Weirdly, he doesn't look so scandalous in this picture.

Page 08: Hakkai's "prison" pic
He's a little under 8' in the pic. Charged as being a "swindler" XD His eyes are...blue-green what. In the anime, his limiters are a little more...wide and tubular (what) but here, you can see that they're hook-ish (x__X I phail). They're the same throughout the artbook.

Page 09: Hakkai posing. "Truth or face of smile."
I don't really get the quote. Something about a fake smile? And following all the other pics, he's dressed up like a mafia member as well.

Page 10: Two pics; Yaone and Sanzo-ikkou group pic
Yaone's picture has a weird background and some water droplets on one side. I must admit, seeing her with her hair down is nice though I wonder why one strap of her dress is falling off her shoulder >_> The ikkou is pic is kinda random; Goku's in the foreground shouting or yawning and the other three are in Hakuryuu in the background.

Page 11: Sanzo-ikkou group pic
Oooh, it's one of the images used in the Tightrope video, if I'm not mistaken 8D Sanzo's S&W doesn't look like it's only three inches in this pic o_O Gojyo's hair is WAY longer than in the anime (though it's still pink). The red tunic Goku's wearing has a black circle symbols with arrows unlike in the anime where it's just blank. The fasteners on Hakkai's top are LONG here o__O

Pages 12-13: Sanzo-ikkou group pic
Sanzo's wearing his crown! *tackleglomp* I LOVE the background; sunset of course since that's what the boys always see while they're going West. Hakkai's eyes are blue-green again WTF.

Pages 14-15: Sanzo-ikkou group pic
The boys in CIVVIES~ Hakkai, Goku, and Gojyo behind a chicken wire fence and Sanzo's on the other side beside a sign that says "A DANGEROUS ZONE". Sanzo's shirt is only partially buttoned, his pants aren't, and you can see his bellybutton XDDD He's wearing the same necklace he wore on page 02. Hakkai's got this kicked-puppy expression going on X3 I like Goku's outfit - especially the jacket tied around his waist and the watch he's wearing - and the way he looks like he's trying to escape. I LOL at Gojyo's exposed nipple XDD Love his sexy pose, though.

Page 16: Sanzo-ikkou group pic
Hn. Goku's got white shoes in this pic. The entire thing reminds me of Neogandhara for some reason.

The drawing here looks more like the style in the anime. Goku looks so...MATURE in this pic. Gojyo's the only one smiling. They're in front of a chicken wire fence topped with barbed wire.

One of those "sets" of the ikkou boys. They're all in civvies again. Gojyo's holding something in his left hand; it looks like a big lighter but I dunno what it is. HAKKAI LOOKS CURVY XDDDD Goku's wearing a weird hat...thing; it's got ear flaps. And he looks so adorable surrounded by all those basketballs~ Sanzo, you look like a manwhore. Really. What's with the pose?

Page 22: Sanzo-ikkou pic set
Goku's and Hakkai's pics are colored, Gojyo's is B&W, and Sanzo's is...monochromatic? For some reason, Goku and Hakkai have lilac eyes. Hakkai's hair looks like it's wet. Gojyo's pants are unbuttoned (as usual XDD). Sanzo, what. Is. With. The. Pose.

Page 23: Kougaiji-tachi group pic
The tachi in civvies!! I ADORE Lirin's clothes and how she's let her hair down. Dokugakuji looks like he's a DOM >__> Yaone's breasts look....weird. KOUGAIJI IN CIVILIAN CLOTHES MAKES ME WANT TO MOLEST HIM. They all have lilac eyes, what. Yaone's hair is black for some reason and Lirin's a blonde. And Dokugakuji's wearing the necklace Gojyo wore in pages 06-07~

I think this is the cover of vol.1 of the manga. You can see the words "SMITH & WESSON" on the barrel of the shoureiju. I don't know what kind of flowers are in the background.

Page 25: Two pics; Goku and some kid
Goku's posing with his nyoi-sansetsu-bou! *tackles* His expression is priceless XD I don't know who the kid is; he's obviously from another one of Minekura's works (Ichirou if I'm reading this katakana in the index correctly). He's grinning a bit...manically and he's got a baby dragon with him ^o^ The red hoop earring he's wearing looks like candy *u*

Page 26-27: Two guys from BROTHER
I don't know who they are DD: According to the pic index, they're from BROTHER The pic has a Christmas-y feel to it and the two (both black-haired) are dressed up warmly. The taller and older-looking one reminds me of Fujitaka from Card Captor Sakura. Or dorky!Seishirou from Tokyo Babylon. He's holding out a chain of paper dolls AND HE HAS THIS ADORABLE DORKY SMILE. The shorter and younger-looking one reminds me of Fuuma from X/1999. He's up-ending a jar of candies. The label says "WILD [something]" so maybe they're from WILD ADAPTER?

Page 28: The two guys from JUST!!(?)
BLATANTLY GAY PIC FTW. The brown-haired guy is wearing this pink, cashmere thing XDD The blond one's lying down on the carpet with his head cradled in the crook of the brunet's arm~

The words "JUST LOVE" are written across the background. The three people (two guys, one girl) all have purple eyes o__O Is it really like that in the manga? The blond guy reminds me of Aki from Ayashi no Ceres. The girl's cute XD And what, the brunet's wearing the same clothes as the blond.

Page 30: Two pics; Tokitoh with Kubota and Executive Committee group pic
Do Tokitoh and Kubota really have the same eye color? I thought Tokitoh was the only one with purple eyes. (And for that matter, what is it with Minekura and purple eyes?) For some reason, Fujiwara isn't in the group pic.

Page 31: Tokitoh and Kubota
There's a sort-of yin-yang thing going on; Kubota's wearing black and his BG is also black. Tokitoh is wearing white and he has a white BG. Kubota's biting a maple leaf (what) and Tokitoh's biting a...ginko leaf? They've both got brown eyes. There's something a bit...different with the style used in drawing them here; their lips are drawn differently.

Page 32: Kubota(?)
There's a guy who looks like Kubota but I'm not sure if it's him. There's blood spatters on his shirt and the wall behind him and his finger is bloody too. The smile is definitely Kubota-ish XD

Page 33: Random guy
He looks like a short-haired version of Kougaiji. I've no idea where he comes from. I think maybe he's from DIORAMA but I'm not sure. LOVE his shirt.

Page 34: Two pics; Kubota and Tokitoh
Kubota and Tokitoh in matching outfits, both with flowers in their mouths XD Kubota's flower is pink and Tokitoh's is blue. Kubota's hair reminds me of my hairstyle during the UP AME GAH o__O And yes, the shirt looks gayer on Kubota for some reason.

Page 35: Kubota and Tokitoh. "WILD ADAPTER. MAKOTO KUBOTA & MINORU TOKITOH, SINCE '1993 YOKOHAMA AREA"
They look like they're behind bars and Tokitoh looks like he's not amused by their current predicament XD Kubota's hair is in a ponytail~ Minekura men in ponytails make me drool *u*/ His outfit is reminiscent of Sanzo's; he's wearing a jacket that's the same color as Sanzo's robes over a top that resembles the one that Sanzo wears.

Page 36: Kubota and Tokitoh
It's the epic picture of Kubota and Tokitoh hugging one another. They're both wet and Tokitoh's animal hand is bloody. Kubota has a gun. I find it funny that Kubota still has a cigarette even though they're both thoroughly soaked XD

Page 37: Team AAA group pic
As usual Nobuto has no eyes (how can he see???), Toki's looking gay (is that a feather boa!?), and Kazuo looks ADORABLE. Once again, what is it with Minekura and purple eyes? Inititally I thought there were three separate pictures but then I saw that there was a black wire/cable running through all three frames and around their fingers.

Page 38: Team AAA group pic. "BUS GAMER"
Nobuta's wearing Gojyo/Dokugakuji's necklace. Toki's outfit is manlier in this pic. Kazuo's holding out what looks like a diskette. They still use diskettes? o__O A cable is going around Toki's left arm and he's holding one end in his right hand.

Page 39: Team AAA group pic. "We have the game one's hands. BUS GAMER AAA. KAZUYA MINEKURA ORIGINAL"
Monochromatic pic. All the guys are in black turtlenecks and there's a cable looped all over them. You can see that Toki's the shortest one XDDD For some reason, Kazuo's got two pairs of eyeglasses; the one's he's wearing and the one propped up on his head on top of his cap. In the previous pic, Toki has two earrings in his left ear and one in his right. In this pic, he has three earrings in his left ear and two in his right.

Page 40: Team AAA group pic
The guys' names are written with corresponding arrows pointed at them. Nobuto's dressed in different shades of blue. There's a pair of shades hooked into the front of his shirt. Kazuo has shades propped up backwards on his head along with his usual eyeglasses. He's also wearing a messenger boy cap backwards. Toki is wearing what is possibly the gayest scarf I have ever seen. It's...translucent. His leather jacket is filled with zippers and he's got white-framed shades propped up on his head. They've all got at least one diskette. I suppose they're MDs.

Toki's got the same shades as the one in the previous pic. And now, he's biting the cord of his earphones. Oral fixation much? And his walkman(?) is pink x__X Nobuto has his customary giant headband on so we can't see his eyes. Like all of his other pics so far, he appears to have shaved unlike in the pilot edition. Kazuo has goggles hanging around his neck and he's only wearing a jumper; no shirt underneath XD

Page 42: DIORAMA group pic
The kid looks like Kouryuu with Komyou's hairstyle o_O The scientist looks like a short-haired Tenpou. The green-haired female reminds me of Dr. Hwan. There's a girl that's sort of like a brunette Kanan. The guy in the middle looks like a black-haired Kubota + Kougaiji. There's a guy here that reminds me of the brunet dude from JUST!!. There's a praying(?) woman that looks like a female Hakkai. And last, there's a guy that looks like a blond Kanzeon Bosatsu with a ponytail. He looks like a manwhore. The lilac eyes. Again.

Page 43: Various pics
A lot of small pics from different Minekura works. Some of the drawings have larger versions in other parts of the artbook. There's Saiyuki, WILD ADAPTER, BUS GAMER, and DIORAMA. I see a condom packet, pills, Cabin cigarettes, and capsules. There's Tokitoh and Kubota in matching outfits, chibi pics of the Sanzo-ikkou, and Kazuo with a do-rag and tiny circular shades.

Pages 44-45: Saiyuki meets WILD ADAPTER. "KAZUYA MINEKURA"
The Sanzo-ikkou (in civvies) posing with Kubota and Tokitoh. Hakkai's eyes are blue-green again, Gojyo's hair is in a ponytail, Tokitoh's wearing a cowboy hat, and Goku's wearing a...huge green blob hat (what) and an over-sized jacket. Hakkai's not wearing eyeglasses OR a monocle.

Pages 46-47: Sanzo-ikkou group pic. "KAZUYA MINEKURA ORIGINAL"

In the ikkou pic, Sanzo's the only normal colored one. The other three are in the background and except for their skin, they're colored in purple. Minekura must love that color. In the Tokitoh and Kubota pic, they're colored in gray-green and white; the red blood spatters really stand out in the BG.

Page 49: Two pics; Yaone with Lirin and the Sanzo-ikkou
Yaone's got black hair in the drawing and she's dressed up in what looks like red leather. Her gloves and the ribbon in her hat are black lace. Lirin's dressed like a...dominatrix. Her outfit's all black leather, she's got a collar, and there's a heart tattoo with wings beneath her collar bone. They've both got lilac eyes. The ikkou members are all in "relaxed" mode. Sanzo's holding a pack of Marlboro cigarettes, Hakuryuu is resting on Hakkai's shoulders, Gojyo's hair is in a ponytail, and there's a meatbun floating(??) in front of Goku's face.

*stifles laughter* Dokugakuji's manga outfit... *snort* Goku's in the foreground and the black symbol on his red tunic is gone though I'm pretty sure that the drawing is set in the manga.

The Sanzo-ikkou is in the middle of the pic; they sort of act as a divider. To the left, there's Gyokumen Koushou, Kougaiji, Chin Yi Sou (with short-hair o__O), Yaone, and blond!Nataku. To the right, there's a shirtless (naked? ...ew) Dokugakuji, Rikudo, Lirin, Kanzeon Bosatsu (I can see her breasts x__X), Jiroushin (apparently he's blond but his bangs and 'stache are black), and what I suppose are Kinkaku and Ginkaku (they're both blond and have different hairstyles from the ones in the anime o_O).

Pages 52-53: Sanzo-ikkou pic set
The entire ikkou. They're all...disheveled with the exception of Goku because he's apparently STRIPPING *restrains self* Gojyo's holding a pack of hi-lites, Hakkai's tunic is open *o* and Sanzo's robes are falling off one shoulder *A* Their name, height, weight, and birthday are displayed above their heads. The same info (a sort of summary) and the characters for "Gensomaden Saiyuki" are written below each pic.

There are little pics stuck to what looks like a corkboard. There's a pic of Tokitoh and Kubot, one of each Sanzo-ikkou member (Gojyo's name is written "Gojo" here), one pic of Kougaiji with what looks like Goku in civvies with a lollipop, and the kid from page 25.

Sure it's a little battered on the outside but the pages are in good condition and I swear that I'm going to keep it stashed with my X Infinity artbook so that no harm can befall it *u* I bought it for 700php and I admit that it was a bit impulsive for me to buy it just like that but it's Minekura's work! *huggles* Most definitely worth every centavo.

German10 long exams tomorrow. The coverage is chapters 5-6. I can do this.

Went to Burger King with Manong Cholo and _fishda_ at around 11:30pm. I FINALLY saw some manwhores! It was rather anti-climactic though; neither one was good-looking. And one was probably the pimp.
