For a little writing challenge I joined over at [info]1sentence . If you've never heard of it, basically you sign up to write 50-themed sentences for one pairing in one fandom. They have different tables for you to choose the 50themes from, and each theme you only get to write one sentence each for.

Tough for this long-winded gal, but I did it in the end. With a lot of comma, semi-colon, and dash abuse. And of course I had to use Donglun. Bahahaha. And obviously I have ADD, so I didn't go in order. PART THE FIRST.

Fandom: Real people (Fahrenheit)
Pairing:
Jiro Wang/Aaron Yan (Donglun FTW!)
Theme set:
Beta
Rating:
PG-15
Warning[s]:
Don't like, don't read.

#21. Quiet
Aaron personally hates the taste of peanut butter, but the nights Jiro quietly shakes him awake at midnight for ‘snack-time’ armed with a silver spoon, he always goes willingly, making sure to not wake Zun or Calvin in their rooms when he tiptoes down the hall; he then sits by the older boy on cool the linoleum floor of the kitchen as the refrigerator lights cast a glow around them, Jiro eating Skippy by the mouthful as Aaron tries to choke some down.

#32. Sorrow
Jiro has shut himself in his room again, listening to the last voicemail his father ever left him—Aaron, standing just outside his door, can hear the voice of the dearly departed baba, tinny-sounding over Jiro’s cell phone; he wants to go in, but he wouldn’t know what to say, or do, because the last time, his own pain exceeded that of Jiro’s when he walked in and caught his steadfast, strong, stubbornly optimistic and ever-persevering friend with tears rolling down his cheeks.

#31. Smirk
Maybe one of the reasons that Jiro loves Aaron so much is because he’s got smirking down pat, and pulls it out at the best times—after saying something particularly cocky; when he one-ups Jiro at pinball; before he steals Jiro’s last fry—and smirking, well… that’s just something that Jiro has always wished he could do back, if only to see the mix of love and frustration he always gets on Aaron’s face for once.

#13. Bias

“Zun beat me in Play’s top-ten best looking stars again,” Jiro says, smacking down the magazine with deference on the coffee table; “I would’ve voted for you, Jiro,” Calvin states with a grin, “I wouldn’t,” Zun jokes, and Aaron unusually doesn’t say anything because, one, he can’t give a fair answer and two, his eyes have just glazed over at Jiro’s number-four spot picture spread in the magazine.

#08. Whiskey and rum
Aaron walks out the door with his beautiful date, his untouched glass tumbler of amber rum still on the coffee table, and all Jiro can do and maybe all he wants to do is mix it in with the rest of his whiskey already swirling in his stomach and close his eyes.

#10. Weddings
Aaron watches the bride glow in the first dance with her husband with a smile and a faintly bittersweet taste in his mouth, much like the after-shock of vomiting—and then all of the sudden alcohol is filling his nose and thoughts of ‘I hope this is just drunk-talk’ and ‘but maybe I don’t want it to be just drunk-talk’ is filling his mind as Jiro slumps across the table to slur in his ears, “think that could be us someday—y’know, without the dress?”

#11. Birthday
It is Jiro’s birthday and Aaron is sleeping in because he has no idea what the hell to give him, or what he can give him: more silver rings for his thumb that Aaron will just steal later anyways—peanut butter which means he’ll have to make more midnight dashes with the insomniac—the new Cheer Chen CD that’ll end up distracting Jiro from everyone and everything including him for the next week… the sudden thought of ‘just give him you’ pops into Aaron’s mind and, shocked, he rolls over with the intention of passing out, fast.

#25. Quitting
“You are so fucking overprotective,” Aaron snaps at Jiro one day, and from then on, he can’t leave Jiro alone anymore.

#26. Bane
“Well you’re an annoying little bastard,” Jiro shouts back, but he makes sure Aaron knows he doesn’t mean it.

#01. Walking

He doesn’t know if it’s circumstantial, foreshadowing, or the beginning of things that, whenever they all go someplace together, Zun leads in the front, Calvin is lagging somewhere behind them, and he and Jiro naturally fall into pace together every single time despite their height differences and his limp, coming unconsciously side by side in the middle of things.

#22. Quirks
Noodles are falling on the floor in a cascade of slippery, slimy rain, and Aaron is grabbing onto the counter for dear life as his legs comically pinwheel every which way on the linoleum, and the goddamn chopsticks are still clattering in rhythm to his panicked ‘fuck, fuck, fuck’s’ uttered under his breath, and his cheeks are chutney-apple flaming-hell red when Jiro stops hiccupping from his spectator spot on the carpet just long enough to choke out, “You’re—just—oh god—stay in the—I love you.”

#41. Nowhere

And sometimes at night when the whole house was filled with thick, comfortable sleep, a floorboard in the hallway would creak and the bedroom door would click open and then Aaron would be sliding into Jiro’s sheets, his natty hair an inkblot on Jiro’s white pillowcases and his groggy slurs a code only Jiro can decipher, and it would be like he had never left, like the impression of his body in the mattress was there permanently, like he had been nowhere else all along.

#07. Waste/Wasteland
When the game-show hosts, or his mother, or his head asks him what he wants in his future, Jiro pictures him and Aaron… and Jiro, he wants to see happiness, he wants to see them walking a small little boy to kindergarten and beaches at sunset making footprints in the sand and old, wrinkled smiles before last breaths—he wants to see paradise… but all he sees is a wasteland.

#41. Horizon
And it’s funny, because when Aaron looks into the horizon, it’s all white noise and glowing bright and warm light uncertainties and the only dark smudge in it that he even wants to venture towards is Jiro.

#48. Virtuous
Aaron was so good, so innocent, so pure, before Jiro walked into his life, and sometimes Jiro will look at the boy sitting peacefully at his side and wonder bitterly what he’s turning him into and when he’ll have the courage to get up and leave so Aaron can heal.

#04. Wonder
“What have Jiro and Aaron been doing in there for so long—I gotta pee,” Calvin complains, and Zun wonders firstly when exactly Calvin will figure it out so he can stop feigning deafness and secondly if it was a good idea to save some money and share one hotel room on this trip after all.

#45. Natural
By the time the early spring rains rolled around again, even Calvin didn’t question the mornings when he was on breakfast duty and discovered that Aaron was missing from his bed.

#44. Near
It was a comforting thought, and one that he often took for granted now, that whenever his mind shut down into one of utter fear and withdrawal right before his foot surgeries, to remember that Jiro would at most be only a wall away, and that he would always be there when Aaron finally woke up.

#26. Jump
“I can jump higher than you,” Jiro teases; everyone in the hospital room gasps and clutches their flowers-for-Aaron, and Aaron glowers at him from beneath his foot cast, but inside he secretly makes a note to himself to jump—in an entirely different sense—Jiro later because right now, when he’s in excruciating pain and feels like dying, what he really needs is a joke or two and the excuse to be sarcastic.

#37. Soliloquy
Last time Aaron thought he was alone—he was in the bathtub for Chrissakes—he had listed off every single thing he’d noticed about Jiro that day before he’d opened his eyes and realized that Calvin, who had stopped by to pick up his comb, was frozen in mid-air with the horrified airs of one who had just walked in on their parents being intimate; needless to say, Aaron generally doesn’t voice anything near the topic of Jiro aloud anymore, and Calvin always knocks now.

#18. Balloons
The very first time Aaron knew he loved Jiro was when he caught the older boy, sitting all by himself on the back-door steps at around three o’clock in the morning, completely sober, as he sucked the helium out of all his birthday balloons and hummed old Chinese tunes in the gas-induced Keebler-elf voice.

#29. Jewel
Amidst a broken October sky, two boys enshrouded in a lullaby haze of some temporary ecstasy, or perhaps ignorance, lay still and full as the mosaic-toned pieces of darkened sky ripple across their faces in jeweled tones of precious stones.

#38. Sojourn
This is just a pit stop, a resting place, a layover between his flights from childhood to maturity; this is what gets him by each day, and this is also what is killing him slowly.

#36. Sordid

Other times in the bathroom, Aaron is alone with his thoughts and he imagines filling the tub to the brim with bleach and scrubbing his skin until it is raw and pink and he hurts all over.

#14. Burning
Jiro vows never to play truth-or-dare with Zun again, and as the aforementioned bastard can’t help but break into a chorus of drunk giggles, Jiro growls with all the dignity he can muster at the moment, “you’re gonna burn in hell for this, Wu Jizun,” and he leans over Aaron to complete his fucking dare and barely remembers to close his eyes at the last second.

25 down, 25 to go. More to come soon. Don't ask me what I was thinking when I was writing these, because the answer is a lot of fluff and nothing else, really. :P Comments of all kind are always appreciated!
