Well, I'm moved. I've been in the new apartment for almost a week and a half now, and in all honestly it's rather unremarkable. It's spacious and cheap, and in good condition... for Timmins. Turns out most available places in town are dumps at relatively high prices right now, and we really lucked out to get this spacious two bedroom for the low rate we got. It's in pretty good condition, too... not flawless, but it's all functional and it's not butt-ugly or anything. The bathroom sucks... it reminds me of a jail cell: cold, damp, and gray; but considerably SMALLER. O_o All in all though, I can't complain about the apartment. It's in the basement but the living room (where my computer, "studio" and DVD/PS2 are) where I spend most of my time is massive and it has three windows, so I have lots of space and natural light. I'm actually grateful that we have this place right now... I can walk to work, saving transportation costs, and with both that and the low rent, I can pay off my debts much faster. That, of course, makes me happy. :)
Work is pretty good. I like most of my many coworkers, even if I can't always understand everything that's going on around me because there's SO MUCH FRENCH IN TIMMINS! I really need to brush up on my French... I'm so bad at it, you wouldn't guess that I took classes right up through tenth grade. I always hated it and never payed much attention in class, and I always lived in very English communities growing up, so I almost NEVER heard it spoken naturally, in a francophone (native French) setting. Now that I'm in northern Ontario, though, it would do me good to pay attention... I pick up a few new words here and there, but that's about it. Learning a few words of Filipino from one of my coworkers, even.
Hrrm... Timmins is very simple. Not really much here, but most of my hobbies don't require much anyway. The apartment is ok and work is good, so I'm pretty happy. Oh, and Rinny is always in town now, so I don't get lonely. (He works 3am until noon five days a week now, so I tend to see him for a few minutes at a time on the days that we both work.) We've been playing Eve Online together since just before the move. I really like this game, probably BECAUSE it's so "slow paced". It's... relaxing.
That's it for now... just a simple update so you all know what's up. Back to Eve Online and Gaia Online with me~! |
