Does Ignite Phoenix have something to do with setting Phoenix on fire? Not really but Ignite 2 was a fun set of micro-presentations on topics people felt passionate about held at Jobbing.com center 10/28/2008. And some were just plain funny!
Oreilly media started "Ignite" as a set of free technology presentations where technologist would get together and give five minute presentations on topics of interest to the presenters. Ignite Phoenix is wide open in its topic choices and pretty much any topic that may interest you. You get 5 minutes to present whatever you want. Ignite 2 the second Ignite meeting in Phoenix covered diverse topics from the environmental "raising farm animals in your back yard", to the serious "drug re-habilitation using art", to the silly "Surviving the Next Zombie Uprising".
