I know that I have been on and off the radar lately. I didn't have a connection to the internet on Thursday or Friday because I was in the car for the larger part of both days. Michael's suite mate from college got married this weekend, the last of their trio to get married. It was a long drive which wasn't to bad going up because it was broken up over two days. Yesterday was pretty long. We were on the road for about 20 hours. We didn't get home officially until 1 in the morning. Michael drove the whole way, which was a blessing and also very tiring for him.
Thursday, I got to see my work family at my old office in Arkansas. I also got to spend some time with my brother. We picked up cousin Brittany and headed to Memphis to stay with Michael's brother and sister-in-law. She is in grad school there in Memphis, so they live on campus in a tiny apartment. But it is so cute! She is such a talented decorator! She was also a very sweet hostess. She baked cookies for us to have them when we arrived and then made muffins the next morning.
Friday, we drove all the way to Illinois to Michael's aunt's house. Her house is so neat! She has an eye for decorating as well! Friday night, we went to the rehearsal and then to the rehearsal dinner at a local Chinese restaurant. It was delicious. The wedding on Saturday was beautiful. Her dress was gorgeous! The reception had dancing which was a lot of fun! Kelsey, the best "man" and groom's sister, was crazy out on the dance floor.
Saturday morning, Michael's cousin, Elisha, came to visit with her new baby, Chloe. She was so precious! She fell asleep in my arms and I fell in love with her. Marsena, MIchael's aunt, said that I looked like a natural, but I don't want anyone getting any ideas! We don't plan to have children for a little while still. Then, Saturday night, I got to meet Momo, Michael's grandmother. I have been looking forward to this visit for so long! She is such a neat lady!
So weddings, family, riding in the car...it was all an incredibly blessed adventure! How were all of your weekends? |
