"ELLE!!!” I knew I should have never tried doing something nice for her, things like that always backfire on me. She came into the kitchen as I was playing with the toaster, which was puffing black smoke. The bread had long burnt down to black ashes. “If you're gonna make breakfast, use a stove, like normal people!!"
"But.. I was just-" I started.
"What? Trying to burn down the house? Cause other than destroying things, I really can't see your purpose in life!" She said as she grabbed a fire extinguisher hidden in a corner.
I'd always been so strong, never had I lost control of my emotions, not in front of anyone, but at that exact moment, I held back a sob. And she noticed. "Aw, Elle, I’m so sorry." She put the extinguisher down and came closer to me. She wiped a tear that I hadn’t noticed before with her thumb. “Shh.. shh..” She wrapped her arms around me and I broke down in her arms, not even bothering to look strong, anymore. |
