Did you know that there is a place actually named Golconda in Nevada State in US? I did not know either. I was watching an episode of "Criminal Minds" ("No Way Out" - Part I), and they showed the location name as Golconda. For a minute I thought they were just making it up. But, no, I checked. There is really a palce called Golconda in Nevada, US, located in Humboldt County alongside Interstate 80. They have a Post Office also, Golconda Post Office. It is named after the ancient diamond-mining center Golconda in India. 

That is all I had found. If ever I get to go there, I will certainly find the history as to why it was named after Golconda in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. For now, it is an interesting observation!
