Well, that title can only mean one thing... well actually, two things:

Number one: I SURVIVED MY SAT!

hehe. ;) aaaaaaaand...

Number two: I'm SEVENTEEN!

Yay!

My big ol' birthday was yesterday, but the day before that was my second SAT test. This one was my most important one, since I used the last one as a basis for how much I already know and what I need to work on before I start going all crazy trying to study for it. Luckily, I studied but didn't have to go crazy. ;) However, since it was the test, I was still super-nervous. (The healthy kind of super-nervous, though; if you don't get nervous at all, you've got a problem.)

When the morning of the test day (this past Saturday, of course) rolled around, I remembered that my dad forced me into registering to take the test at a test center that was close to his work, since all of Seneca's spots were filled up (why does he always wait until the late period to sit down with me and sign up for it? It's $21 cheaper if you simply do it on-time!!!). That meant that he signed me up for a test at DuVal HS in... PG County. Near Goddard Space Flight Center and his office at Greenbelt's CSC building. I knew I was in for an experience, considering that PG and Montgomery Counties are complete opposites.

I'm not the type to be all closed off, of course, just because of the stereotypes that everyone makes about PG's school system, especially when ragging on them just makes Montgomery sound like a bunch of rich-kid snobs (besides, the rich-kid snobs are only in the lower county, like in Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Potomac. ;) ), so I went there with an open mind. I left there stunned that the stereotypes were so true, at least on that day in that school. I was the only non-African-American female in the testing room. Now, that doesn't irk me because I don't like being the "only white girl" I saw there, but because of what little diversity they have there. I'm so used to seeing every type of person in a classroom; obviously, they weren't because they all stared at me when I walked into the room (that's a bit rude, isn't it? geez.). I think I would've felt the same way if I had taken the test at, say... Damascus. Being surrounded by ONLY white kids would freak me out, too. So, I guess I'm lucky to say that I live in such a diverse community. :)

Oh, and I think I did really well on the SAT. ;)

Yesterday was different than most of my previous birthdays because it was on the weekend, for once. I got to sleep in, take my time, and enjoy the day. Nothing super-special really happened over the birthday weekend (besides the Red Robin bit, haha), but I did decide on what I really, really want for my birthday:

:D It's got QWERTY! It's got an inside! AWESOME! :P

So yeah, it's gonna be a good 17th year of my life, I think. My summer has also unofficially started, since I only have 1 exam and it's on Wednesday. :D That's the ONLY reason why I liked my AP classes. lol

Much love, Lizzie
