there's been a lot of change in my life in march, well, some change... i moved from Bradford to Ilkley. now my trip to work is about four minutes long, or one song on my ippod shuffle. so i've spent what spare time i had (not much) trying to unpack the mountain of boxes so i can put stuff away. not that i have much of an 'away' to put them...
last month i started a blogspot photoblog. all i'm putting there are photos, one a day. hopefully.
Sara had a birthday (that's my sister, btw...) and i finally gave her her present today. it was a hot chocolate mug set with little whisk and chocolate grater. she was in town today so she popped round. while she was here she suggested a photo for my up coming exhibition at the Love Apple in may. i still need to finalize some pics and get most of them framed but i've got time.
speaking of exhibitions one of the pics for mine is currently part of the Ilkley camera club exhibition at the Manor House museum here in Ilkley. i stewarded there last sunday and had a good look at the exhibits. a lot of good photos there, my only critism being that the pics seem to be arranged in a totally ramdom order, with no noticable link however tenuous between the photos so you'd get a portraint next to a landscape next to a still life next to a landscape, wildlife, abstract, portrait, landscape- not necessarily in that order... certainly if it was up to me i'd have them organized differently, better, i like to think. the club committee are seeking new committee members for next year onward, and everytime they mention this at the club evenings there is a not insignificant glance in my direction. should i? i'm not too keen to be on the committee, at least not yet, i don't feel ready for the responsibilty, tho i my volunteer to be on the exhibition c'tee next year...
last thursday and friday i listened to all the Sweatdrop podcasts (well, those i hadn't heard yet) and the one about manga, art and education was particularly interesting, at least to me it was. i'm not planning on making a comic anytime soon, my drawing skills aren't really up to it, i'm not as skillful as markenglert or even queenelectric (tho i may use photos and photoshop drawing... whatever they call it to illustrate that story i may one day finish...)
next friday i'm taking the MacBook back to a representative of mr jobs to fix this little annoyance. apparently it'll take the best part of two weeks to fix this...
i haven't been keeping a close eye on you lot and what you've been up to, or more accurately what you've said you've been up to... />a few things that do come to mind tho- one of you has been to Onset and thanx for the postcard to prove this (luv it!), one of you can draw the future (ages back she drew an adorable sketch of her bf with a beard and now he has one! amazing!), one of you seems to be having doubts about their lovely new apartment (in Blighty it would be described as 'teething troubles') (cos it's new), and speaking of 'teething troubles', one of you experienced a lot of this in their new work place last month (all that money spent, all those months of testing and still it went wrong!*, oh, and apparently it hasn't got a roof, it's got a 'wave'...), one of you can rap in a rather saucy manner! (i saw you on youtube, do it again!!!), one of you got a new lens for their camera (and a good choice it is too, i've got the same lens! 'great minds', eh?), one of you got a whole new camera (and, may i say you're using it well), one of you has embarked on an exhibition/show of sorts partnered by that very lovely redhead (i wish i could be there to see this show cos i don't think i'll get it just reading about it), two of you got pissed about by possible employers, one of you started a new job (or was that in feb?), one of you had to quit a job and one of you came out (sort of)(or where you out already?) and one of you changed her name (hello Annette).
*i can't wait for the next unclaimed baggage sale...! |
