YES!
Before I could even take my seat the manager Amanda commented, "So I've looked through your application and résumé and I must say WOW you have a lot of experience!" I knew right away that things were going to go well. Little did I know just how well it was going to go.
After basic questioning such as, "what are your strengths and weaknesses?" and "what do you expect out of your work environment?" Amanda began to cover what they wanted to offer me if I decided to take the position. I'd originally applied for the front desk position which is what I would initially be hired for but because of my training in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training, I would be offered a Personal Trainer position! I'd also be able to enroll in classes and become an instructor for various classes offered at the center. While working as a Personal Trainer, I could continue attending Pima Medical until graduation where I would then be offered a Physical Therapy position with the hospital. I nearly cried during the interview. I'd commented several times on how I felt the position would be perfect for me in which she then commented that I would be perfect for the position. PERFECT!
On Monday afternoon I'll hear from Amanda who will schedule yet another interview with the owner to finalize everything and then hopefully I can begin work soon. I feel so appreciative that I've pretty much landed a position that will ultimately advance into my desired career instead of being stuck behind some desk day in and day out. I count myself very fortunate. My next worry will be my upcoming entrance exams. They will be one of the factors that decide whether or not I get the spot in the Physical Therapy program. Although it's not only based on the scores but previous/present experience, the thought of being tested in order to gain a competitive spot makes me a complete nervous wreck! I only have one shot for the program and I can't blow it.
