Well, there's no other rational explanation. But, knowing me, why would rational even be necessary?
Okay, let's begin at the beginning. After yesterday's gallivanting, I woke up this morning in extreme pain, and was stumbling about bent over at the waist. Lovely. /sarcasm
In the afternoon, I started preparing dinner. I baked two chicken legs (I cheated, using Cajun shake'n'bake). I sliced green, yellow and baby zucchini, a sweet onion and 'shrooms. I also had two huge stalks (sprigs is just not the right word) of rosemary and a few basil leaves and a sprig of thyme.
I poured olive oil in the skillet and placed the rosemary around the perimeter, then individually sauteed each type of veggie, ending with the 'shrooms, basil and thyme. When the chickie was done, I placed it in containers and arranged a few pieces of all of the veggies around it before putting it in the fridge. And then I washed oodles of dishes.
When Brian arrived, I was ready to go outside to our customary picnic table. We had our usual good time. He nagged. I resisted. He said he was going to call me Vicky (from Little Britain) because of her propensity to starting every conversation with "No, but, yeah, but." Brian is SO bad! I told him of my mountain goat climbing yesterday, so he asked if I wanted to go for a walk. I agreed, but only after taking a couple of Advil. Well, we did the hill thing and then walked to where John and I usually sit. Then Brian asked if I wanted to go farther. And now I'm amazed and, um, irritated. Because I had no idea there was a bridge/deck just a few feet away. We were there talking to the geese/ducks (well, Brian was involved in that) and one swan swam over. We took the long (though much safer) route back along the community centre. And, then, it was time for Brian to go home. Can I be sad now?
And I was soooo sleepy. I blame the veggies ... or the fresh herbs. But, hey, at least I'm relaxed and should sleep well. I hope you're all unwinding as well. Lethargic ::giggles:: hugs, H. |
