On the surface of it, a film about sisterhood and shoes doesn't sound that interesting. Partly because I don't have a sister (something I am increasingly grateful of, as I suspect she would want to spend time with me in a way my brother has never cared for), and partly because I just hate shoes.
Toni Collette is just awesome. I remember seeing her and Cameron Diaz promote the film; Diaz prompted Collette to elaborate on possibly the best childhood anecdote of all time: when she faked appendicitis and had her appendix removed. The film itself is not bad. I wouldn't say it was great, but probably worth watching just to see Collette and Diaz (who generally annoys me but was fabulous in this). I want: - some shoes - omg, subliminal advertising! - Cameron Diaz's body when I'm in my 30s. In fact, screw the waiting, I want to look that good now. - to read poetry by E. E. Cummings |
