A little background of Dear Cloud, Dear Cloud is a band which consist of 5 members namely Nine(vocalist), YongRin(guitarist and backup vocalist; also Lucid Fall's guitarist! :) ), Elang(bassist), JungA (Keyboardist) and KwangSuk(drummer). They did a lot of live gigs in pubs and clubs often, which made them relatively known by most underground music lovers. Dear Cloud released an album last year(2007), self titled, and i fell in love with the vocalist's voice. Their music is rather soft and pleasant with soft rock elements in them. Nine's vocals are somewhat husky, yet sounds very passionate and lovely to the ears. One may mistook Nine for a male, appearance wise and vocal wise, but if you listen closely, you can actually know that Nine's a she. She's really beautiful too, honest! Here's a picture or two of her and the guitarist, YongRin. [1] and [2]. I loved their first album so much, and the same goes to their second album.

Onto the album, the album starts with Siam, a mysterious sounding track. The track starts off soft and smooth, and then other elements like drums and stronger electric guitar adds in to the track. This track is the longest track from the album, 6.22. Well, its more of a random knowledge actually so just ignore that. Teehee. 부탁해 comes next, a rock ballad with Nine's smooth vocals. Not one of my favorite but the chorus sounds good. Lyrics are pretty sad too. Their title track, Lip comes next. This track is a bit more upbeat and the music video's rather dark too. Nine shows off her strong vocals here. I'm loving every bits and pieces of this song. Oh and in the MV, Nine dyed her hair blonde! She looks really gorgeous with that blonde, no? Somehow reminds me of JaeJoong. Back on track, another soft rock ballad 늦은 혼잣말 comes after Lip. The track itself sounds rather hopeful and a bit sad. Nine's vocal sounds soft and a bit dreamy in the track. Nonetheless, I'm liking the track. A more upbeat track, Never Ending appears next. Compared to 늦은 혼잣말, this track is a fun and more upbeat track with a happy mood. 거짓말, one of my favorite from the album, makes its appearance with soft strums and Nine's vocals. I think i can call this song an acoustic ballad. Though, the chorus sounds more complex than the serene beginning of the song. I have posted their performance of this song in my locked personal post before. Here's a link to it; youtube. That was 5 months ago i believe. 나를 안아 ('05 Home Recording) is another acoustic track of theirs, i reckon. The song starts with smooth plucks of guitar and then onto Nine's vocals. I'm loving it as much, a really lovely track to listen to. 나에게만 너를 말해주기를, another soft rock ballad track, makes their way onto the album. I love the music arrangement of this song. There's something of this song that pulls me onto it, like something is attracting one person to hear it. Daydream's another fun track and another upbeat track to listen to. It sounds quite happy but im not sure about the lyrics as i heard something like 'Thank you for the tears', or something like that. I better check the translations of the lyrics soon after. Mardi09 at Soompi kindly translated it. So if any of you are a Soompier, and is interested in the lyrics, be sure to check out he lyrics forum. Next, 비밀 sounds a bit on the dark side and sad-ish song. Or maybe that's just me. The album closes with La La La Song. The track does not sound as happy as the title, honestly. It sounds sad actually. Soft piano keys and Nine's smooth vocals throughout the whole song. What a way to end the album. Another lovely track, i suppose. Though a bit short. On the bottom line, the album does not disappoint, to those who loved their first album nor to those who just heard them. Give it a listen if you like soft rock music accompanied with smooth vocals.
